GLOBE Mission EARTH Teacher PD in Providence RI This summer the Boston University Mission Earth team ran professional development for elementary and middle school teachers from the high need school district of Providence, RI. In attendance were teachers new to GLOBE: 13 elementary teachers from 4 elementary schools spanning grades 2-5, and 4 middle school teachers from 3 schools. In addition, 4 teachers with GLOBE experience attended for a second summer to share their experience using GLOBE in their classrooms. The teachers were trained in GLOBE atmosphere protocols and biometry. A highlight of the workshop was an excursion to a local nature conservancy in collaboration with a representative from the Providence Parks Partnership.
