2018 PYSA INDOOR 3V3 TOURNAMENT RULES 1. Due to the use of futsals, NO HEADERS ARE ALLOWED at any age group. 2. All teams must return their score sheets after each game. Failure to do so will result in a zero being entered for your score. 3. All games will be 25 minutes in duration and will start simultaneously on the half hour. In the case of a tie there will be a three-minute “golden goal” overtime. Both teams will start with three players on the field, and after each minute of play one player will step off the field so that the second minute of overtime will be played 2v2 and the last minute 1v1. Once a goal is scored in the overtime session the game is over. If your team is not present at the beginning of a game you will go down one goal for every minute you are late. If your team is 5 minutes late the score when the game begins will be 0-5. 4. The honor system will be in effect for all games. Players call balls out of touch, handballs, fouls, etc.. Court monitors will be on hand and reserve the right to enforce any rules or overturn calls. Remember, this is a game of skill. Given the nature of the playing surface the physicality of the outdoor game should not be carried over to indoor futsal. 5. All participants must wear shin guards. 6. Indoor futsal tournament balls will be used in all age groups. 7. A classic rock/paper/scissors battle shall determine who gets the opening kickoff. 8. Goals can only be scored from your attacking 1/2 of the field. 9. After a goal is scored the game is restarted with a kick-off at midfield. The ball can be played backward on the kick-off. All defenders must stay out of the center circle at the kickoff. 10. There will be no throw-ins, as all sideline restarts will begin with an indirect kick. 11. Goal kicks, taken from inside the goal crease or anywhere on the end line, or corner kicks on all balls over the end line. 12. No slide tackling or any other violent conduct, profanity or abusive language, spitting, etc.. Doing so will result in a disqualification from the match. Court monitors reserve the right to suspend players without warning for the remainder of a game for a flagrant foul. 13. No players, attackers or defenders, inside the goal crease for more than 2 seconds. NO GOALKEEPING. Teams in violation of this rule will be given one warning by the court monitor. Each subsequent offense will result in an undefended penalty kick from midfield. 14. All fouls (with the exception of intentional handballs that take away a goal scoring opportunity) result in indirect free kicks. No defenders within 5yds. of the ball on indirect kicks. 15. If there is an intentional handball the attacking team will be awarded an undefended kick at their opponent’s goal from midfield. 16. Teams can sub on all restarts. 17. No offside 18. No protests. All game results are final. 19. All spectators, parents, and coaches, must stay behind the nets that ring all of the fields. 20. Coaching is highly discouraged. This tournament is a player driven initiative. It is the belief of the PYSA that players are not put in enough "backyard soccer" environments where they are required to problem solve on their own. Please reserve all coaching points for the hallway between games.
