LMIG list approved

Road maintenance list gets OK from commissioners Elbert County’s Board of Commissioners approved the 2015 Local Maintenance and Improvement Grants (LMIG) list by a 5-0 vote earlier this week.. The LMIG list named five roads which would be resurfaced during the year. The roads on the 2015 list include Deep Creek Road between Highway 172 and Seymour/Rehoboth Road (7,373 feet), Hudson Road between Highway 17 and 2368 Hudson Road (3,975 feet), Rousey Road between Highway 17 to the end of the road (4,290 feet), Miller Drive between Whiteside Drive and Tate Street (1,856 feet) and Harmony Road between Highway 77 and Flagstone Road (5,500 feet). The proposal also calls for 6,775 tons of rock crusher run. The total cost for all projects is estimated at $691,836.52. Any amount over the LMIG allotment will come from SPLOST funds, said County Chief Financial Officer Phil Pitts. In other news from the commission meeting Monday, Horace Baker was unanimously approved for another three-year term on the assessors board.
