Why Ocoee Retreat Center Ocoee Retreat Center is one of the top destinations for hosting group retreats and getaways in the Southeast. With ample on-site activities and offerings available, ORC provides endless opportunity to strengthen teamwork, enhance group communication and break boundaries through both land and water activities. Easy and convenient lodging and dining allows your group to focus more on fun and adventure and less on travel and accommodations.

Eli Fowler / Director While a student at Emory University Eli spent his summers guiding rafts and teaching whitewater canoeing on the Nantahala and Ocoee Rivers. After graduation, Eli taught high school for five years in St. Augustine, FL and Denver, CO before transitioning back to the outdoor industry and managing an outdoor recreation facility in Andrews, NC. There he specialized in whitewater rafting and multi-day adventure trips for boy scouts. In addition to directing dayto-day operations at the North Carolina facility, Eli also managed the company’s operations at a camp in Copperhill, TN. This facility focused on multi-day adventure retreats for large groups, particularly church youth groups. Eli’s experience as a professional educator gives him familiarity with the group-leader’s perspective, and his experience with students helps him create successful group events. Eli’s energy and enthusiasm makes him a natural leader, and his conscientious managerial style impresses both clients and staff.

Ocoee Retreat Center Staff A native of the beautiful Ocoee area, Emily enjoys whitewater kayaking, rock climbing, hiking, and all other types of active outdoor recreation. After becoming an American Canoe Association-certified Whitewater Kayak Instructor in 2006 Emily found a love for teaching, especially with kids, and she primarily enjoys group experiences and achieving team goals. As a part of the Ocoee Retreat Center team Emily combines her passions for the outdoors, education and youth on a daily basis. As focused on safety as fun, Emily maintains a full Emergency Medical Responder certification with a wilderness-specific endorsement.

Zane Condo / Assistant Manager A native of nearby Cleveland, TN, Zane spent four years (‘98-’01) as an Ocoee Retreat Center activities coordinator for one of his first jobs.. He then earned a degree in Construction Engineering from East Tennessee State University and subsequently managed construction jobs all over the Southeast. Now back at Ocoee Retreat Center, Zane uses his engineering background to supervise the campus’s facilities, and he also assists in the day-to-day operations of the business. When not working Zane enjoys fishing—especially kayak fishing—and most other outdoor pursuits.
