Most plants are suitable to grow in this unique potUPSIDE DOWN.: Miniature roses, fuchsia, geranium kalanchoe, cineraria, hydrangea. For a quick & spectacular result, plant lobelia, campanula, dianthus or any of your favorite fast growing annuals. Herbs, strawbrrries & miniature tomatoes are also suitable for DUP, but avoid trailing & climbing plants as they do not grow upwards without support. o Select a healthy young plant with an established root system for your DUP. o It may be easier to plant with bare roots - gently rinse the soil from the roots & trim if necessary. Plant firmly into the DUP & if appropriate, lightly prune the tips of the plant. o Allow the plant to establish before inverting & hanging the DUP - usually 2-3 weeks. Allow longer for plants with shallow root systems (such as succulents). o Water & fertilise through the top of your DUP according to the plants requirements. If the DUP is neglected & dries out, immerse the entire DUP in water until the bubbling stops & then rehang the DUP. o Pruning promotes healthy, thick growth - especially after flowering. (Note: Woody or long stems will not turn up - it is the new growth which grows up & around the DUP)
