we’ll dive into the feature segment!
[Fade Music Up and Out] ● Quick Podcast Update ○ I received some great questions from Jen on Facebook about my update in episode 214. ○ I announced the podcast will be taking some time off beginning in 2018. ● Jen said she is interested in hearing my analysis that led me to come up with the new schedule format, specifically, 5 questions: 1.Do you have concerns about coming back to a project after being away from it for a month (the ramp up period)? a. Nope. b.I’ve been podcasting for over 4 years. The time away would likely bring me back with a fresh perspective and more energy. 2.What are some Pros and Cons of Bi-weekly vs. 3 months on, 1 month off (and other considerations) a. Bi-Weekly is still a possibility, and could be a good fit. i. It’s less work every month, instead of direct time off from a full-month break. ii. But, it seems most people like to

iii. iv.
binge-listen and get a lot of shows all at once, and then take a break. Many TV shows and podcasts work like this with seasons. I will consider many options and will probably change my mind after I try out some new formats and schedules.
3.Timing: Why start this plan in March? Do your "off" months better align with speaking opportunities? a. I aligned the off-months to the slowest months of the year for the show. b.March, July, and November tend to have the lowest downloads and interaction. c. Speaking opportunities are pretty random, so there’s no telling when those could pop up. 4.What other factors weighed into your decision? Financial opportunities? Personal obligations? a. Money? Yes. b.Podcasting is a marketing engine, not a profit-center. c. Yes, I have ads, but they don’t generate much revenue in comparison to other projects I have going on every year. 5.Are there any opportunities lost by maintaining the same schedule?
5
a. Yes, which is why I am making changes. b.It takes quite a bit of time to prepare for each episode, which is time I could be spending on other aspects of my business that I want to grow. c. If my schedule shifts, I may be able to batch projects more effectively, and ultimately get more accomplished. 6.Question from Brad: Have you considered running a "best of 5 am podcasts" during your month off? I would guess that a lot of folks have not heard all of them. New listeners would benefit. a. Yes, which I have tried before, but it’s still a lot of work on my end. b.The long-term solution is to hire assistants and a production team to help develop content, but I’m not there yet.

1 Action Step: ● Create ONE small Stack (with ONE notebook and ONE note) to act as your example. ○ The best way to understand how to organize any complex system is to start small and keep it simple forever. ○ Using just ONE stack, with ONE notebook, and ONE note, create your own example to model after for all of your other content in Evernote. ○ As soon as you have a plan for how to organize this basic setup, everything else is copied from there. ○ Essentially, you have mastered the basics and can then progress to more complex setups if you choose, or just don’t. ○ Evernote can be whatever you want it to be, once you understand the rules and guidelines
