2016-2017 Year Player Contract and Team Policies Congratulations on being chosen and accepting to play for the Team TFS® STX Fastpitch Organization. We anticipate this year will be a wonderful experience for you, and our, coaching staff is excited about the future. We envision big things for each individual player and our teams. As coaches, we are here to do everything possible to assist you in becoming the best player that you can be and the best person you can be. We are not only here to concern ourselves with you as a softball player and athlete, but also as a student, and quality human being. The following speaks to our expectations and rules for the Team TFS® Organization. Being selected as a Team TFS® STX member is an honor and a privilege. Coinciding with this privilege is your personal responsibility and maturity to respect the rigors of Girls Select Fastpitch softball in preparation for college softball as a student-athlete. This experience will be unique. The requirements to play for Team TFS® STX and your future college team will rely upon your willingness to accept many responsibilities. Academic responsibilities include being a model student, maintaining your GPA as high as possible, and scoring well on college placement exams.. You are expected to be a leader on and off the field, as well as in any activity or function in which you participate. Athletically, you must be dedicated to training like a champion. This will require that you make sacrifices for yourself, your team, and your family Your mindset, behavior, actions, discipline while training, dedication to academic excellence, ability to listen, as well as many other qualities will determine your destination for college and thereafter. Team TFS® will help you reach your goals if you accept the challenges we set for you. The bar for performance and expectation will be set high. The Team TFS® STX Organization will expect nothing but your best at all times. The manner in which you perform not only reflects upon you, but on the Team TFS® STX organization, your teammates and your coaches. We want your experience with the Team TFS® STX Organization to be a success and we will do everything within our power to facilitate this. Team TFS® STX asks that you be respectful of yourself, your teammates, and the coaches. Through performing well on the field and setting a high standard for our behavior as an organization, we will continue to build a tremendous reputation for Team TFS® in our community leading to long-term success!
Player Expectations:

Restrain yourself and other teammates if inappropriate outbursts occur. 4. Refrain from the use of alcohol, tobacco, and illegal substances at all times. 5. Refrain from abusive, derogatory, vulgar verbal exchange, taunting, or demeaning offensive gestures or tactics. 6. Refrain from engaging in any physical contact with opponents, officials, coaches or team members that is not directly associated with normal conduction of the game. 7. Support and encourage your teammates at all times.

Team TFS® STX Social Media Code of Conduct Understand that social networking sites are viewed in the public domain, often by coaches, parents, teammates, classmates, teachers and other members of the community. All players, parents, coaches and other representatives of Texas Fastpitch School and Team TFS® STX must understand that being a positive and productive member of the organization requires that each person make choices and decisions that reflect well on the organization and team. Each parent, player, coach and representative serves as an ambassador, and is asked to refrain from behavior that would reflect poorly on TFS/Team TFS® STX while using social media such as Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, email, etc. Conduct on social networking sites as well as your email accounts that reflect negatively on the Team TFS® STX organization or TFS (Texas Fastpitch School) organization is strictly prohibited. Any member of the TFS/Team TFS® STXorganization that violates this policy will be disciplined, which may include but is not limited to, termination from membership or any affiliation whatsoever with Team TFS® STX, TFS or its affiliate entities. Understand that social networking sites are viewed in the public domain, often by coaches, parents, teachers, classmates, teammates and other members of the community.
TFS/Team TFS® STX Social Media Code of Conduct Guidelines Do not befriend and share information on a social networking site with an unknown adult without your parent’s permission. Be careful when giving out personal information on any type of social media. Limit time spent on social media to a reasonable length. Studies have shown 3-4 hours/day is the maximum recommended time spent on electronic media. 4. Use good ethical and moral standards in your interactions. 5. Do not use inappropriate or vulgar language. 6. Be thoughtful and mindful of your comments and posts. Use words and comments that are not hurtful. 7. Remember to be supportive of your family, friends, teammates, coaches and community. Stay away from comments speaking badly of them. 8. Do not display pictures or comments about inappropriate conduct at parties. 9. Never post a picture or comment that you would not want a coach or prospective college coach to see. 10. Post comments and use language that reflects the qualities of a good leader and citizen. 11. Think before sending an email, text or posting a comment on social media. Team Dues Team Dues includes all fees for tournaments, umpires, coaching fees, equipment, insurance, administration Team dues are in the amount of (See chart Below) + Organization Fundraiser. Dues runs September-August. All payments must be made through the website. Startup Uniform and equipment package is $300-$400 and paid upon signing your player contract. You agree to pay a minimum of $1000 in dues plus uniform package and fundraiser. If you leave the team you will be charged the balance difference between your current dues payments and $1000.
Dues Per Team 18U, 16U, 14U Monthly Dues is $200 per month through August 2017 12U Monthly Dues is $165 per month through August 2017 10U Monthly Dues is $150 per month through August 2017 8U Monthly Dues is $135 per month through August 2017
New Players: Players coming onto the team after the start of the season will pay the following schedule. Oct-Aug 1st month (Dues + Uniforms) 2nd month (Dues + ½ fundraiser) 3rd month (Dues + ½ fundraiser) Payments: Due on or before the 1st of each month. Payments are expected on time. There is a 4% CC processing fee on all charges. Any fees not received by the 3rd of the month will be accessed a $25 late fee then after the 3rd it is $10 per day on all dues owed. All payments must be made online. Sponsor fees can also be used to pay dues. Sponsor fees are discussed below.
Organazation Fundraiser: In addition to team dues Each player will be responsible for selling 10 Houston Texans Football Squares (You can buy out for $500) This is an organizational fundraiser that will stay with TEAM TFS to help keep dues at its current rate. This pays for Team TFS clinics, Batting Cages Access, Team Meeting facilities, Hosted College Camps. This total is due by Friday September 5th. You can continue to sell until September 10th. All squares that you take you are responsible for payment. If you fail to sell all 10 by the last deadline of September 10th you will have to buyout at $50 per square for each one you did not sell. Any squares over 10 that you sell we will put $50 into your player fundraising account. If you join after the start of the season you will be responsible for the buyout amount of $500 with your 2nd and 3rd months dues payment. All TEAM TFS STX players are actively registered with the HOUSTON ASA which provides the ASA insurance and field usage.
Sponsor Fees: Sponsor amounts are as follows: any amounts including $100.00, $300.00, $500.00 and greater. All checks made to “TEAM TFS STX”. 100% of Sponsor fees can be used to pay dues and/or applied the team member’s fund raising account. Team TFS STX does not take any portion of Sponsor fees. Uniforms and Player Equipment: Bats are the property of TEAM TFS STX. Players are only using this Equipment for the season. Players are responsible for upkeep of the uniform and maintain in a clean and good condition. Lost/Torn or sullied uniforms are the financial responsibility of the player and must be replaced immediately. Only team official uniform will be worn on the field. Uniforms will be worn in a manner approved only by the orginization. Guidelines for proper uniform dress are available through a separate handout. on the field. Under shirts, sweats, windbreakers, jackets,etc. are the property of the player but must match the color scheme of the uniform. Players leaving the team for any reason must return all complete player issued gear within 72 hours. Failure to return the uniform promptly will result in the team taking all legal action necessary. In addition the player will be reported to area ASA, USSSA and USFA, PGF Commissioners and steps will be taken to ban player from ASA, USSSA and USFA PGF play until items are returned. At the completion of the season, all player issued gear must be returned to TEAM TFS STX. If you fail to return the equipment you authorize Team TFS STX to charge your Credit Card on file for $500 to replace them. Attendance Policy: Regular attendance is required. Players are expected to attend practices, tournaments and fundraising events. If unable to attend, prior notice must be given to team manager or head coach and be approved. Repeated absences from any of the above items will result in disciplinary action and possible release from the team. Family vacations should be scheduled on open weekends and a calendar of playing dates will be issued out as far as possible. The calendar will be as inclusive as possible at that time. Seniors are required to play through Nationals, Senior Fundraising money will be released for the National tournament only. If you leave the team you will not be released from the team until all player gear is returned and all Dues is paid to date.
TEAM TFS® RULES A. Each player is expected to be at all practices and on time. If you are to be late for any reason, then the reason must have prior approval. Being late for practice(s) and/or missing practice(s) will result in disciplinary action. Habitual tardiness and/or missing practice will result in being dismissed from the team. B. Each player is expected to be at all games, as well as on time. Being late for a game will result in not being in the starting line up and possibly not playing in the game at all. The only acceptable reasons for a player missing a game are illness or death of immediate family member. No other reasons are excusable unless approved by your coach. If an issue ever arises, notify your coach immediately so he/she can prepare for your absence. C. Each player is expected to attend all team functions and meetings and to be prompt. Being late or missing a team function, may result in suspension(s) or removal from the team. If you miss practice and do not contact the coaching staff, then you will automatically be suspended for a game. If you miss more than one practice and do not contact the coaching staff, then you will automatically be suspended for a scheduled tournament. Third offense you will be dismissed from the team. Head coaches for each team will determine the amount of practices you may miss based upon their discretion. D. Smoking and the use of drugs or alcohol is not permitted by Team TFS® and is illegal. Any use of the above will result in disciplinary action and possible dismissal from the team. . E. Bring both cleats and tennis shoes to all practices and games. Cleats will be taken off prior to exiting the field and before entering any building. Players may have responsibilities as far as field maintenance before or after practices. Vehicles, and any other facilities used will be kept clean and will be attended to after each use. F.
Each player will be assigned responsibilities involving equipment and duties. We are a team and we help one another. Additionally, team members are responsible for all property and possessions belonging to the team and organization.
G. NO PARENT WILL BE INVOLVED WITH COACHING PRACTICES OR GAMES UNLESS REQUESTED BY A COACHING STAFF MEMBER OF TEAM TFS®. H. Head coaches will handle any and all on field disputes. At no time will players or parents address Team TFS® coaches, teammates, tournament officials, umpires, other coaches, other players, or parents in a negative manner. Violation of this rule may lead to suspension(s) or dismissal from the team. It is not the responsibility of the coaches of Team TFS® to control parents. It would be very unfortunate to have to discipline a player due to the actions of a parent.. I.
Players that do not travel with their parents to a tournament MUST travel with another team member’s family or a coach. Players are only allowed to room with another player/family or with other players under the supervision of the coach.

We are a team. There is no “I” in team. Your actions reflect on the team and our organization. We encourage you to excel not only on the field, but also in the classroom and in life. We are here to help each one of you become a better player and person, but it is all up to you. We are here to coach you and make decisions that benefit the team and organization. Each player shall act in a way that is becoming of a Team TFS® STX athlete, and a good citizen of the community.. Your behavior and actions, as well as ours, reflect on the team, the organization, and our families. Unbecoming behavior or actions may result in disciplinary action and possible removal from the team/organization. Any other behavior or actions deemed inappropriate by Team TFS® STX and its’ coaching staff may lead to suspension(s) and/or being dismissed from the team. The coaches will do everything possible to present Team TFS® STXin the proper manner and we expect the players and parents to do the same.
Outside Sport Activities and Pickup Playing: Players participating in school sponsored sports, especially softball is acceptable. Excessive school sport participation could result in reduced playing time due to the need to carry a larger of number players on the team. Participation in nonschool sports and club or tournament teams other than our team is not prohibited. Injuries that occur in a sport, other than school supported or TEAM TFS STX play may be cause to release player from team due to inability to play for the TEAM TFS STX. Pickup playing for any other team may be possible only with prior TEAM TFS STX director permission only (Not your head coach). Lack of prior approval could result in release from the TEAM TFS STX. Approval may or may not be granted. Playing Season: Playing season will run September through approximately the second week of August. A slight variation will occur according time of the year and weather. We will fundraise and practice throughout the year. Schedule may vary slightly depending on school schedules and National tournament dates. Team Practices: The team will practice normally two days per week weather permitting. Additional practices will be scheduled as needed. Practice days/locations may be changed if needed, due to scheduling conflicts. Practices are a team event and players are responsible to give adequate notice for lack of attendance or be there. Cancellation of practice will be done via email, phone call or text services, if adequate time permits. If players have any questions regarding practice, they should contact the manager or head coach. A team calendar is located on the website with all practice and tournament information.
Player discipline & Attitude: Players are expected to maintain a team player attitude and understand that you are representing a TEAM TFS STX team. Displayed anger toward coaches and players will not be tolerated. Excessive display of lack of respect toward team members and coaches will result in disciplinary action. How all players act individually is a reflection of the team overall. Discipline can include a verbal reprimand, practice field discipline, games playing forfeiture, tournament forfeiture and possibly being released from the team. Derogatory statements, destruction of team property and throwing of personal equipment will not be tolerated. Drug or Alcohol Influence: Players believed to be under the influence of physical or mental altering drugs or alcohol or suffering the effects of drug or alcohol consumption before or while involved in any team function, activity or games, are subject to immediate dismissal from team. This includes possession of any of the above. This does include any drugs deemed to become illegal by law enforcement. Fundraising: All players are expected to participate in team based fundraising activities, which may include carwashes, tournaments, Football Squares and camps, Team Raffles. These events are not restricted to the above mentioned. Participation in selling activities such as BBQ, Candles, Candy, etc is voluntary and on an individual basis. fundraising of any type will be distributed only to players participating. These funds will be saved and used for your National Tournament expenses incurred or expected to be incurred by the players and their families. Individual Funds will be released evenly over the number of tournaments for the summer starting on June 1st. If you miss a tournament then that portion of your fundraiser money will be forfeited to the Organization to help pay for any pick up player needed so the team can attend the tournament. Parent & Player contribution: Team support from both the parents and the player are critical to team morale and the emotional well being of the players. In the same measure, parent or player attitudes, comments and actions that are deemed detrimental to the team or its players, will not be tolerated. Parent interference with players or coaching during games will not be tolerated. Continued negative communication from players or parents will not be acceptable. All communications from parents and players should be directed directly to the coaching staff on a one to one level. Continued negative or destructive actions of any type, will result in immediate separation from the team of the parents and/or players. Player/Team Separation: Players may separate from team of own choice or as a result of termination with team by coaching staff. Termination from team by coaching staff may result from refusal to follow team philosophy, acts detrimental to the team and repeat violations of team policies. This could also include the player’s inability to perform to team expectations. Players terminated by the team or If the player leaves the team of own their own choice, no paid dues are refundable. All fundraising money and Sponsor fees will stay with TEAM TFS STX Organization. Upon separation the all issued gear must be returned. If the complete package is not returned, the player will be reported to ASA, USSSA, PGF and USFA and not released from the roster until it and all dues owed are given to the TEAM TFS STX. Chain of Command and Playing Time: Efforts will be made to maintain fairness of playing time based on a player’s skills, stats and willingness to adhere to coach’s requirements. Playing time and positions played will not be discussed. If there are concerns that need to be addressed with a coach that are not “playing time” related, please follow the chain of command. 1. 4. Team Communication: Communication with players and parents can be via email, phone calls and text. Players and parents are expected to respond to communications to verify reception.
