Player Code of Conduct - Volleyball 1. Each player should have his/her own shoes (court/volleyball shoes are ideal, but any athletic shoe will be fine). In addition, it is highly suggested that each player wear kneepads to help prevent injuries. 2. Players will not swear or use degrading and/or unacceptable language. 3. Players will not use obscene or unacceptable physical gestures. 4. Players will not taunt opposing teams, coaches, fans or referees with unsportsmanlike behavior. This includes, yelling at the other team during play. Cheer your team on and use good sportsmanship. 5. Players will not question any call made by the referee. In the event a player gets ejected from a game by the referee, they will be suspended the following game and face further disciplinary action from the Volleyball Director and/or LHYA Board. 6. Players will hustle on and off the court and will practice good sportsmanship at all times. 7. Players will treat teammates, coaches, fans, officials and opponents with respect. Again, root for the success of your team, not the failure of the opposing players. 8. No siblings, friends and/or parents (legal guardians) are permitted in the bench area during the game without the permission of the Head Coach. In addition, all players are required to remain in the bench area during all games. Medical (injuries) and personal (restroom) emergencies may require the player to leave the bench area or parents to enter the field of play. 9. During the regular season and post-season tournament, all LHYA sponsored teams are required to wear the jerseys issued by the LHYA. 10. All players are expected to attend team functions (practices, scrimmages, games, LHYA fund raisers, etc.) on a regular basis and are also expected to arrive on time for the team functions. Failure to attend team functions on a timely and regular basis may result in benching or suspension. Exceptions to this rule are made for school related functions. The Head Coach is permitted to bench or suspend a player for not consistently attending team functions or for consistently being late provided the disciplinary action is conducted pursuant to these rules. The Head Coach may also bench a player for not assisting in the fund raising efforts associated with the particular league with such discipline to be made in. 11. Any LHYA player who demonstrates unacceptable or unsportsmanlike behavior that is in conflict with the LHYA Codes of Conduct will be subject to disciplinary procedures.

Player Code of Conduct - Volleyball 12. In the event a player is subject to benching or suspension as a result of Code of Conduct violations, and after review by the LHYA Volleyball Director along with the LHYA Board Members, the player may be suspended any number of games and/or practices that is deemed appropriate for the offense. In the event a player receives two forms of disciplinary action in the same season (either benching and/or suspension) the LHYA Baseball/Softball Director, along with the LHYA Board, will review the violation and the player is subject to further discipline up to, but not limited to, suspension from LHYA volleyball for the remainder of the season with no refund of entry fees. 13. LHYA does allow players to move up early. If a player would like to move up to the next level before his/her age allows, he/she must get approval from the LHYA Volleyball Director and LHYA Board. They will be required to tryout if one is offered and a decision will be made thereafter. 14. Players are expected to eat an appropriate meal prior to arriving for a practice or game. Eating in the bench area before and/or during a game will not be permitted. 15. Any player who is suspended by the LHYA Volleyball Director (with majority consent of the other LHYA Board members present at the LHYA facilities) shall have the right of appeal to the LHYA Board.
