The Ogden Friendship House of Hope Hours are Changing!
Earn Your High School Diploma
In order to better serve you, the House of Hope will be open Saturday mornings starting June 4, 2011 from 9am till Noon. We will be closed on Mondays, and be open in the afternoons Tuesday - Friday from 1:OOpmto 4:00pm. Please consider volunteering a few hours a month so that we have enough help to be open. Three volunteers are now needed each day, for more information or to volunteer, call Co. 785-537-5116 Thank you Diana Chapel
Open Door is an adult high school completion program. Anyone who has not graduated from high school is encouraged to enroll. Students begin with all credits previously earned & work to complete Manhattan High School graduation requirements. Students work at their own schedule. Hours are Monday, Tuesday & Thursday from 8am to 8pm & Friday from 8am to 12pm. An MHS diploma is awarded to all graduates. For additional information stop by Open Door at 205 S. 4th Street Manhattan or call 785-539-5928

laugh II UP "A day without laughter is a day wasted" An elderly lady did her shopping and, upon returning to her car, found four males in the act of leaving with her car. She dropped her shopping bags and drew her handgun, proceeding to scream at them at the top of her voice, "I have a gun and I know how to use it! Get out of the car you dirty rotten scoundrels!" The four men didn't wait for a second invitation but got out and ran like mad, whereupon the lady, somewhat shaken, proceeded to load her shopping bags into the back of the car and got into the driver's seat. She was so shaken that she could not get her key into the ignition. She tried and tried and then it dawned on her why. A few minutes later she found her own car parked four or five spaces farther down. She loaded her bags into her car and drove to the police station. The sergeant to whom she told the story nearly tore himself in two with laughter and pointed to the other end of the counter, where four pale white males were reporting a car jacking by a mad elderly woman described as white, less than 5' tall, glasses, and curly white hair carrying a large handgun. No charges were filed. I can't hear you An elderly gentleman with serious hearing problems goes to the doctor who fits him with hearing aids that allow him to hear at 100% for the first time in many years. The elderly man goes back in a month for a checkup. The doctor says, "Your hearing is perfect. Your family must be really pleased that you can hear again." To which the gentleman replies, "Oh, I haven't told my family yet. I just sit around and listen to the conversations. I've changed my will three times!"
