How to Make 1. Trim ends of trims diagonally. Singe ends of synthetic trims to seal. Use Fray Check to seal cotton or rayon trims. 2. Arrange trims in an asterisk shape as shown, widest on the bottom, narrowest on the top.
What You’ll Need • ¼ yd pieces of 5 to 9 ribbons or trims • Needle • Strong thread (such as heavy polyester or nylon thread) • Lighter to singe ends of polyester ribbons • Fray Check to seal ends of cotton/rayon trims • A hair elastic • A button
3. Take a couple of stitches right in the center, anchoring all of your trims in place.
4. Add your elastic on the back, looping your thread around the elastic. Don’t sew through it, or it will weaken the elastic.

5. Add a button to the front, looping around the elastic and anchoring your ribbons even more firmly to the elastic.
