The school are looking for staff to help continue to move the department forward in its thinking and approaches; people who are willing to develop and share ideas with other members of the Faculty and people who want to work as part of a team. The posts offer extra paid responsibility for suitably experienced candidates. The successful candidates will be given the opportunity to teach across all ability levels, and the experience or interest in teaching ‘A’ level would be an advantage. Job Description Assistant Director of Learning - Mathematics TLR grade: 1a Responsible and Accountable to Director of Learning for the curriculum area, Head teacher and governors
Overall Responsibility and Accountability: Support the Director of Learning (DL) for Mathematics, Head Teacher and school governors By working in conjunction with the DL in Mathematics successfully providing high quality provision for pupils and Post 16 students Implementing faculty policies in accordance with school policies Acting as a professional role model Taking responsibility for identified key elements of teaching and learning Deputising of the DL as necessary
Accountable for: The following with regard to Supporting the construction of an engaging and relevant curriculum The monitoring and evaluation of the impact of the curriculum Supporting leading and sustaining curriculum development The good progress of learners The quality and frequency of assessment Supporting the monitoring of performance through tracking learners’ progress as individuals, groups and cohorts The quality of teaching and learning in an agreed part of a curriculum area Monitoring and evaluating the quality of teaching and learning in a curriculum area Ensuring professional subject knowledge is of a high standard and updated Be actively involved in the evaluation of the strengths and areas for development for the curriculum area, team and individuals Identifying professional development needs within the curriculum area and individuals
