Instructions to complete “Posh” necklace: Step 1 With the pearl cotton thread still on the spool, thread the end onto a twisted wire needle (see Bead Crochet Technique). Use the needle to string all the beads randomly from a mix of all five seed bead colors. After you finish stringing all the beads, do not cut the thread. You will continue to use thread from the spool as you crochet. Step 2 Leaving an 8-inch tail, make a slip knot in the thread, and place the loop onto a 1.75mm crochet hook. Tighten the loop. Step 3 Following the Technique, crochet a 15-inch-length chain. Step 4 End off the chain as shown in Steps 18 – 19 of the Technique. Cut the yarn, leaving an 8-inch tail. Step 5 Repeat Steps 2 – 4 five times, making a total of six 15-inch bead crochet chains, each with an 8-inch tail on each end. Step 6 Hold one end of all six chains together so that the end beads are aligned. Thread all yarn ends through one 8mm jump ring, and tie the ends with an overhand knot around the ring. Tie a second knot to secure the attachment. Cut the thread ends close to the knot, and apply a drop of Hypo Tube Cement to the knot. Step 7 Repeat Step 6 on the other end of the crochet chains. Step 8 Open the 4mm jump ring (see Opening and Closing a Jump Ring Technique). Use the jump ring to attach the loop on the lobster claw to one 8mm jump ring. Close the jump ring.
