Position Description:Working Title: Agriculture Program Assistant/ Summer Intern Summary of Position: Assist in planning, promoting, implementing and evaluating Agriculture Program activities. Position is temporary position (max. 200 hours) at $10/hour, to commence on or around July 17th and end on or around August 27th, 2017. Major Responsibilities:  Assist with Agriculture Program education activities as directed.  Assist with planning and implementing Ag programming for local County Fair.  Assist with planning and implementing Ag awareness activities including “Sundaes at the Farm” and “Taste of Tioga” local foods dinner.  Promote Agriculture Program activities through newsletters, email, and social media. Program Reporting:  Compile and report on program participation and success as directed. Reporting Relationships:  Direct supervision from the Ag Resource Educator with input from CCE Executive Director. Education and Experience:  Minimum HS diploma and 18 years of age.  Knowledge of agriculture and/or farming experience preferred.  Experience in public events planning and/or community service preferred. Knowledge and Skills: Responsible for complying with all EEO/EPO policies/procedures as listed in the CCE Affirmative Action plan and in the employee manual  Must be able to work with a diverse audience of paid and volunteer people  Ability to communicate through written, oral and electronic methods  Possess good computer skills, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and social media.  Resourceful, requiring minimal supervision, self-motivated, creative, willing and able to work collaboratively with staff and volunteers Special Requirements:  Willingness to work evenings and weekends as program requires  Ability to travel around Tioga County as the program requires.  Ability to move and lift approximately 40 pounds of program materials/equipment.
