Position: Fruit Procurement Summer Intern Location: Santa Maria, CA Job Description
Assist fruit procurement manager with monitoring of strawberry deliveries to local coolers. Track and communicate inventory levels of fruit and trays at local coolers. Monitor and communicate fruit quality of daily receipts at coolers Field work at assigned growers o Assess condition of fields and fruit quality o Measure brix of field fruit o Gather projected volume information from growers o Assist growers in completion of documentation o Assist in managing tray inventory at field level o Perform quality assurance audits
Requirements
Must be currently working towards a degree in a related field of agriculture, ag business or natural sciences Strong communication and organizational skills Spanish language skills desired but not required Valid driver’s license valid insurance and a clean driving record

June-September o Exact start and end dates flexible o 24 hours per week (Tues, Thurs, Sat) o $16/ hr. Position to begin with one week training in Moss Landing, CA
