Poster Presentation Information and Guidelines
REQUIRED POSTER COMPONENTS The following components must be present on your poster on-site: Disclosure Statements: All contributing presenters and co-authors must list all conflict of interest disclosures at the bottom of the poster. If the contributor has nothing to disclose, please write “There are no relevant conflicts of interests to disclose.” Title and Contributor Names: Include the title of the poster followed by the contributor names, credentials, and affiliations. Abstract: Include the abstract description at the top of the poster with a clear purpose (statement?) that highlights poster significance. Introduction: State the problem, current state, or performance improvement project. Objectives: List the 2-3 learning objectives that were included in your abstract submission. Methods: Describe the procedures, participants, measurements, and protocols used in the study and include the scope of research. Outcomes/Evaluation Results: Present data in the form of graphs, tables, and photos that pertain to the research. Conclusion/Nursing Implications: Clearly list key findings, interpretation, and management implications and applications. Bibliography: Includes sourced evidence identified in your abstract submission.
*An overview of the study area, sampling locations, funding sources, and research partners are not required but may be included.
POSTER BOARD DIMENSIONS Each poster will be mounted on a free standing fabric poster board. Please make your poster slightly smaller than the fabric poster board dimensions. All posters will be mounted with Velcro® tabs provided by the AANN Education Team during poster set-up. Fabric Poster Board Dimensions: 4’ x 8’
POSTER PRESENTATION TIPS AND TRICKS
Font size should be large enough to read from 5 feet away Use 72 point-font as a minimum size for the Title; (104 point-font) is commonly used Use Sans-Serif fonts such as Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, Univers, or Geneva for clarity Ensure that titles and subtitles used accurately describe the content Use a minimum of 24 point-font or 18 point-font for superscripts and subscripts for non-title text Photos should be sized appropriately to appear clear and not blurry Italics are difficult to read – If using italics consider double-spacing all text Present professional and high-quality materials. AANN reserves the right to take down any inappropriate or unprofessional poster submissions.
HANDOUTS Online Handouts: All posters will need to be uploaded as a PDF online to the Speaker Portal by February 22, 2017. Online posters will be available for attendees to view on-site and after the meeting for evaluations. On-site Handouts: If you have supplementary materials for attendees to review, please come prepared with handouts to place on your poster board.
POSTER JUDGING Each poster will be eligible for a poster award. Poster judging will be open to all attendees on-site. Poster winners will receive a ribbon as well as a certificate that will be emailed in the weeks following the meeting.
POSTER SCHEDULE Please make yourself aware of the following times for set-up, take-down, and presentation. All poster presenters are required to follow this schedule. Poster Set-Up: Tuesday, March 21, 2017 – 11:30am to 4:30pm Poster Take-Down: Thursday, March 23, 2017 – 11:15am to 2:10pm *Presentation times will be determined at a later date and will be emailed to all poster presenters.
