Postgame Notes: New Mexico v Western Michigan November 10, 2017 UNM 88, Western Michigan76 Team:  This is the first regular-season game for the Lobos and the third game overall, the first two being exhibition matches.  This is head coach Mike Bradbury’s second season with the Lobos, following a 15-15 record in the 2016-17 season.  The Lobos went 2-0 in preseason play, with wins over Eastern New Mexico and Fort Lewis.  New Mexico has six returning players, two transfers, and five freshman for the 2017-18 team. 1st Quarter:  #0 Cherise Beynon- 13 points  #44 Jaisa Nunn- 6 points  UNM had a 60.0 field goal percentage vs. Western Michigan’s 33.3 percent after the first quarter.  Lobos lead the Broncos 25-12 at the end of the first quarter 2nd Quarter:  #2 Tesha Buck- 6 points (9 overall)  #0 Cherise Beynon- 5 points (18 overall)  #32 Antonia Anderson- 4 points (4 overall)  UNM and Western Michigan both had a 47.1 percent field goal percentage at the half.  Lobos outrebounded the Broncos 22-14 in the first half.  Lobos lead the Broncos 45-36 at the end of the first half. 3rd Quarter:  #0 Cherise Beynon- 6 points (24 overall)  #2 Tesha Buck- 5 points (14 overall)

#44 Jaisa Nunn- 5 points (11 overall) UNM had a 33.3 field goal percentage to Western Michigan’s 37.5 percent in the third quarter. Lobos lead the Broncos 65-60 at the end of the third quarter.

4th Quarter:  #2 Tesha Buck- 8 points (22 total)  #44 Jaisa Nunn- 7 points (18 total)  #4 Alex Lapeyrolerie- 5 points (8 total)  UNM had a 45.3 field goal percentage to Western Michigan’s 39.2 for the game  Lobos outrebounded 46-33  Lobos defeated the Broncos 88-76 Team/Individual Highlights:  Cherise Beynon, is one 3-pointer away (has 133) from moving up to sixth in career 3-pointers.  This was the most points the Lobos have scored in a game since defeating New Mexico State 92-85 in 2009.
