PPP STATEMENT HO

PPP – Madam Eva Lokko Madam Chairwoman, your royal majesties, the people of the Volta Region, my name is Eva Lokko. Am here with William Dowokpor. We are from the Progressive Peoples Party; PPP (pre papa preko; party papa paaaa). We, the Progressive Peoples Party, are 100 percent behind NDPC. We believe that a 40-year plan is long overdue and we are happy that today they are fulfilling their mandate to help us all as Ghanaians to put down the road map for development. We believe that this long-term plan will definitely have short- term plans within it, which means that regardless of who is in power, they have a portion to implement. We are looking forward to a long-term plan that also has mediumterm plans within it, which means that if technology changes, if world events bring changes, the plan can be modified to meet current needs, and of course we need that long-term plan to have all of this because we have to look into the future to plan properly. I am sure everyone planned this morning as to how to get here. Even though this programme is at 9:00 am, they started planning as soon as they got this invitation. So a long-term plan is very useful. We hope and believe that this long-term plan will help us to institute incorruptible leadership so that there is no need for judgement debt, so that there are no judicial scandals or parliamentary scandals. We believe that together, we can put together a plan that ensures health for everybody through preventive health care, because if you have to work you have to be well. We believe in a plan that ensures that we have free, compulsory, standard, quality education for all Ghanaians regardless of which region, community or district they come from. We are looking forward to a plan that will ensure that every single person who graduates gets a job or is helped to create their own business so they can employ even more Ghanaians. We believe that we need a new Ghanaian to implement this plan, a Ghanaian who thinks outside the box and puts Ghana first. We believe that we also need new political parties that think outside the box and ensure that this plan is followed regardless of which political party is in office. This way, we ensure that every one of us puts Ghana first and we all work with this plan to ensure that we have equity in all regions. Every region will develop, have all the amenities and infrastructure that they need, will elect their own leaders and hold them accountable for local development. We know NDPC is putting a lot

of effort into ensuring everything that our hearts desire. Therefore we are 100 percent behind them. As a political party, we say ayekoo and we are with you all the way in the 40 years. We are sure we will live to see it. Thank you very much. And make your voices heard today, Volta Region. Thank you.
