Activity Description Rondo 4v2: Rondo is a passing game. Objective is to pass the ball to each player without losing the ball. Players need to try & stay on or behind the line,& require team mates to strongly pass the ball to each other. Players can move side to side on the line. If a player on the outside loses the ball Activity 1 to the defender and or kicks the ball out of bounce, then that player becomes the defender. Encourage the players to keep the ball on the ground, change their angles to support their teammates, communicate, and play quickly. Dribbling with 1v1 progression. Two lines 20-30 yards apart. Every player starts off with a ball. A - Two players (one red and one white) dribble at each other with speed. Once they come together, the players will take a touch either to the right or left (Coach decides) away from the other player and dribble to the opposite line. You can Activity 2 change what you do when the two players come together (step over, sole role, etc.) B - Players in white are the attackers and starts with the ball, and the other players in red are defenders. The attackers will dribble at the defenders and try to get to the end line. 4 team Transition Game (transition from attacking to defending)-30Width x 50Length yard grid. 4 teams of 3 players. Two teams inside the grid (white and red teams)and two teams (yellow and blue/white teams) outside grid. The two teams inside the grid attack and defend an end line. Coach will play a ball to one of the teams inside the grid (red team in the diagram) and they must dribble past their Activity 3 opponents (white team) end line. Once they dribble past the opponents end line the team on that end line (yellow team) will receive a ball from the coach and they must attack the other end line while the team that was just attacking (red team) must get back and defend. And its continuous attacking and defending.

Coaching Points Coach: Should the players on the outside stay active and move around, or stand still? Player: Move around and stay active to support your teammates. Coach: What part of the foot should you use when passing the ball? Player: inside the foot or laces when facing your partner. Coach: What foot should you aim for when passing to your partner? Player: Their back foot or uphill foot. When you play their back foot/ uphill foot-this allows the other player open up.

Coach - What part of the foot can you dribble with? Player - sole, inside, outside, and laces. C - Should the ball be close or away from you when you are dribbling? P - Close to you! If the ball is away from you then the opponent has a chance to take it away. For the 1v1: -Encourage skill and creativity. -Attack with speed (like you would in a game)

-Encourage the teams to keep possession & lure the other team away from their goal. -Transition from attacking to defending has to be quick. -In order to keep possession there must be constant movement from the attacking players. -All players need to communicate with each other: man on, turn, take your space, etc. -Make sure players follow up any shots taken just in case the keeper bobbles or drops the ball.

4v4 to Small Goals-209width)x30(length) yard grid. Each team has a small goal to defend and a small goal to attack. Players score by passing, and or shooting the ball in the goal. Activity 4

Week:

Go over restarts, and team shape. Be careful of coaching(speaking) too much. Try to only coach in natural stoppages(when the ball is out of bounds, after a goal, etc).
