Start on time Start practice with an event that signifies the start of practice (less than 5 minutes) o Running bases o Minute drill Throwing Program (10-15 minutes) o Proper grip o Forearm and wrist flips o Sky, Scratch, Throw o Ready, Break (check ball position and hand), Throw o Open, close, throw Stations (10-15 minute rotations) o Station 1 – Fielding 3 ball drill 2 line relay (proper fundamentals) Bucket drill (proper fundamentals) Fungo o Station 2 – Batting Tee work with proper fundamentals Line drives Up middle Right field Left field Double tee drill Live pitching with whiffles or birdies Live pitching with heavy balls o Station 3 – Pitching Shadow with proper fundamentals Set, Balance, Power, Release Point, Finish Bull pen sessions Early season start with limited reps and increase during season Build muscle memory and muscle strength Practice changing speeds (10U and older) and working on location. o Station 4 – Outfield Proper footwork for ground balls Quarterback drill for fly balls Fungo o Station 5 – One-on-one instruction Time for individual players to get one-on-one instruction as needed Receiving with fingers up Throwing fundamentals Hitting fundamentals Pitching fundamentals Mental aspects of the game Situations (10-15 minutes) o ½ team is fielding, ½ team is running o Runners must wear helmets o Switch runners and fielders halfway through time limit Finish with a game o Ground ball goalie o Home run derby o Long toss target practice o Tee ball target practice o Around the horn
