The diagnostic wax-up with a mutually protected occlusion. Right Canine Guidance
The accuracy and passive fit is a major advantage regarding predictable outcome of computer-aided design/computer-assisted manufacture (CAD / CAM) fixed prostheses specially in complex cases involving full-mouth reconstruction. This case presents an anatomical approach, in which the provisional prosthesis are used to predict the final occlusal morphology with a developed mutually protected occlusion scheme.

Wax patterns are processed to obtain provisional PMMA, prepare the tooth and adjust the temporary restorations. Since executing the occlusal scheme on a semi-adjustable articulator only represents the beginning and end of the trajectory we did an occlusal adjustment. The PMMA provisional restorations were scanned to develop monolithic zirconium crowns. The purpose of this technique is to avoid wear on the zirconium in tetragonal phase and consequently avoid a monoclinic phase. This technique help us in a significant time reduction, accuracy of the occlusal scheme and durability of zirconium restorations.

The technique consists of mounting diagnostic models on the semi adjustable articulator, make the diagnostic wax-up with a mutually protected occlusion.
