Princeton

A rain barrel is placed under a gutter’s downspout next to a house to collect rain water from the roof. The barrel holds about 50 gallons of water which can be used to water your lawn, flowers, shrubs, and trees. The typical cost of a rain barrel is $70+. The Township of Princeton is subsidizing the per barrel fee for this workshop. Participants will only have to pay $20 per barrel, which includes the barrel and all the materials. Rain water harvesting can help save money on your water bill, and reduce flooding in local rivers and streams. Participants will be shown step by step how to assemble their own rain barrel and learn how to install it at home.
