Principal’s News Dear Parents, We are all so excited for the celebration of Veterans Day here at St. Raphael next Friday, November 11th! The morning includes a delicious, hot breakfast prepared by our parish, a beautiful program presented by our school children, and guest speaker Timothy Vansickle, USMC Veteran. Every student in grades Preschool-8 has prepared in some way to say, “Thank You!” to our Veterans through special artwork, writing assignments, letters, program decorations, and of course a short concert program. Many of the students have come up to me to share their excitement that a Veteran they know will be attending: grandparents, uncles, brothers, and family friends. This is such a wonderful teaching opportunity for our children about patriotism, sacrifice, fortitude, and loyalty. All parents are welcome to attend and enjoy the lessons we will learn together and to assist in thanking the Veterans of the United States of America. Students are encouraged to invite Veterans whom they know for this special morning, 8:45 - 10:00am at the Church in Marian Hall. Parents are also welcome to participate by helping decorate Marian Hall from 7:30 - 8:30am on November 11 and then staying to enjoy coffee and rolls and watch the program. If you are able to help decorate Marian Hall, please call our school office at 763-504-9450. Veterans who are able to join us for this special morning dedicated to them, please RSVP by calling our school at 763-504-9450 ext. 505. In Christ, Ann Coone, Principal

November, January, April and June Calendar Differences between Robbinsdale School District and St. Raphael School Last spring when we built our school calendar, we opted on four occasions to vary from what Robbinsdale School District was providing for school days during the 2016-2017 school year, thus bussing. Our decision was based upon what we believed to be most important for our students and the academic school year. The changes are noted below and reflected in our school calendar at http://srsmn.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/2016-17-Calendar-May1-2016.pdf. We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause families and will take this into account when planning assessments and curriculum. In addition, we will be providing summer school (for a fee) on June 5, 6, 7, 8 for families who are in need of care for their children while waiting Robbinsdale School District Summer School Programs to begin on June 12.

We wish our team and coaches God's very best. Thank you to all of our coaches, parents, and students for great Soccer, Volleyball, and Cross-Country Seasons! You were a light of Christ as you gave your very best at practices and games.
