Principia College Aquatic Programs
Swimming and Diving Lessons Registration is now open for the Spring session of swimming and diving lessons at Principia College. Lessons are held in Principia College’s natatorium that provides an open and welcoming atmosphere for learning to swim. They are taught by experienced members of the Principia College Swimming and Diving team.
6 week session – April 1 – May 6 Saturdays at 9:00 am Classes: • Parent/Child Lessons 9:00 - 9:30am Cost: $35 This class is designed to help toddlers become comfortable with the water. Parents get in the water with their children. • Level 1 – Water Exploration 9:00 - 9:30am Cost: $35 This class is designed for children who have had minimal or no previous swimming lessons. Children should be at least 3 years old. • Level 2 – Primary Skills 9:00 – 9:30am Cost $35 In this class, participants will learn to swim basic front and back crawl, submerge underwater and gain confidence in deep water. Participants must have completed Level 1 or be able to demonstrate Level 1 skills. • Level 3 – Stroke Readiness 9:00 - 9:45am Cost $40 Participants will learn to dive, learn the elementary backstroke, become and continue to build more efficient backstroke and front crawl skills. Participants must have completed Level 2 or be able to demonstrate Level 2 skills. • Level 4 – Stroke Development 9:00 – 9:45am Cost $40 Participants will learn breaststroke, and continue to build more efficient backstroke, elementary backstroke and front crawl skills. Participants must have completed Level 3 or be able to demonstrate Level 3 skills. • Beginning Competitive Swimming 9:00 – 10:00am Cost $45 Participants will learn the basics of competitive swimming including refinement of all strokes, learn all turns and starts. Participants must have completed Level 4 or be able to demonstrate Level 4 skills. • Beginning Springboard Diving 9:00 – 10:00am Cost $45 Participants will learn the basics of springboard diving including proper balance, approach and entry level dives. Participants must be comfortable swimming in deep water.
