A Lush Los Angeles Bungalow Moises Esquenazi designed a little L.A. house with a lot of California cool. By Frances Schultz
A Color-Saturated Cabana To connect the inside with the outside, Moises Esquenazi created a series of living areas in his Los Angeles backyard, including this cabana with a daybed that echoes the colors he used in the interior of his bungalow. The natural fiber pillows and the blue squares are from RL Home; striped and print pillows are by Trina Turk. Photo Credit: Reed Davis

A Worldly Los Angeles Living Room In the living room, eras and styles were mixed for a "worldly, intimate look." The 1920s sofa is only 5 1/2 feet; he thought a larger sofa would overwhelm the small room. Donghia club chairs are handwoven peeled wicker over a handcarved merbau wood frame. The ottoman functions as a bookcase, of sorts. Red tilt-top lamps are from Fantasy Lighting. Photo Credit: Reed Davis

A Chic and Dramatic Entry Orange, white, and blue are the colors Esquenazi repeatedly used inside and outside, beginning at the entry — which he designed to be "chic and dramatic." Red tip hedges give the bungalow more privacy. Photo Credit: Reed Davis

Little Guest Room with Big Personality Big color works in a small space: Benjamin Moore's Newburg Green on the guest room walls plays off fabrics in hot tropical colors. Esquenazi silverleafed a wooden deer head to give the room a "sprinkling of out-there embellishment." Photo Credit: Reed Davis
