Welders and Metal Workers make and install sheet metal products, such as roofs, air ducts, gu=ers, and vents. They also, repair the structural parts of ships, submarines, landing craA, buildings, and equipment. Machinists make and repair metal parts for engines and all types of machines. They operate lathes, drill presses, grinders, and other machine shop equipment.
Use hand-‐welding or flame-‐cutting equipment to weld or join metal components or to fill holes, indentations, or seams of fabricated metal products. Sheet Metal Workers Fabricate, assemble, install, and repair sheet metal products and equipment, such as ducts, control boxes, drainpipes, and furnace casings. Solderers and Brazers Braze or solder together components to assemble fabricated metal parts, using soldering iron, torch, or welding machine and flux. Boilermakers Construct, assemble, maintain, and repair stationary steam boilers and boiler house auxiliaries.
