Progressive Legends Classic Oklahoma State 73 – Pitt 67 Oklahoma State Head Coach Mike Boynton: On the game: “I’m extremely proud of my team for showing everybody the type of character that they have to bounce back from a butt-whipping last night. We got beat pretty soundly in a lot of different aspects of the game. Other than rebounding, we didn’t do a whole lot well yesterday, but for us to continue to do that today, rebound the ball and then guard and make some adjustments defensively from a competitive standpoint, it’s something that we can build on for here.” On Jeffrey Carroll: “There’s a reason he was a unanimous All-BIG 12 pick preseason. Last night, I’m not saying he won’t have another bad shooting night this season, but he hasn’t played a game since the NCAA Tournament last season. I expected him to have some jitters, be a little tight last night, but…yeah, I think we have a lot of guys that can help us. I don’t expect him to have 30 points every night, but it gives us a different element that people normally don’t have to prepare for.” Jeffrey Carroll: Was there any pressure on you to hold onto the lead in the second half? “No not really. Just really staying calm, I think. It’s about being poised and that was our mindset the last two minutes of the game.” On bouncing back from last night’s game and shooting better today: “It was a pretty good day for me. I give a lot of credit to my teammates because they gave me all the support I needed to bounce back today and play really well and win.” Thomas Dziagwa: On his shooting: “Well that’s my job. My teammates get me open, I’m supposed to hit open shots, teammates find me, teammates help set me screens and coach has faith in me to shoot it, so my job is to hit open shots and that’s what I did.”
