Again, this is a two part project due to all the techniques used. Our goal is to finish projects in class as much as possible. Techniques for project: 1. 3D embroidery techniques 5. Turning ties 2. Piping 6. 3d cloth flowers 3. Creating ruffles 7. Pockets 4. Binding application Specific Supplies Pattern: Michelle’s Designs Fan Club #3754—order from Patty’s Sewing Center Order the following design from myembroideries.com #200017004 Fabrics: This sample was made for the Viking Topez through the Royale. If your machine is smaller or larger, measure the length of the machine, add 3 inches and cut the main fabric and lining to this measurement by the width of fabric. The batting should be this measurement by 36 inches. Fabrics: See attached picture to choose the number of colors and possible theme. o Main fabric for machine: A. Cut 1 piece 23 x 32 B. Ties: 4 pieces 2”x18 “ o Lining fabric for machine: Cut 1 piece 23” x 32” o Binding: Cut 3 pieces 2 ½” by width of fabric. This may be a contrast fabric if desired. o Ruffle: 2 pieces 10” by width of fabric. Cut 1 extra piece to practice 6 x 18 inches o Piping: Cut 1 piece 2” by the width of the fabric. Cut 2 pieces 3 ½ sq. for leaves o Pocket: Cut 2 pieces 7” long x 8” wide
o Lining fabric for machine: cut 1 piece 23 x 32 o Batting: may be polyester, but I used Warm and Natural: cut 1 piece 23 x 32 Cording for piping: 1 yd of approximately 3/16” cording Hoop: 120 x 120 Feet: Duel feed Foot, general a foot, ¼” foot, edge stitch foot or topstitch foot, single grove cording foot or welting foot, gathering foot Needles: Embroidery #90, Top Stitch #80, Universal #80 and #90 Stabilizers: o Aqua Magic Dissolvable o No Show Fusible Mesh 7” x 8” for pocket Threads: o Neutral sewing thread that blend with the fabric o Sulky #30 for Quilting contrasting or blending with fabric (fine cotton or embroidery thread may be used) o Embroidery thread: Bring 4 shades of main color such as rose pink family and 2 shades of green. o Embroidery bobbin thread 60 weight

Quilt Spray Adhesive Stiletto Alcohol wipes or a Q-tip and small bottle of alcohol for cleaning needle if necessary Hand sewing needles Tube Turners
