Program vs. Project Management • A Program is a group of the same type of projects. • Focused on achieving objective and benefits of the integrated program. • Program managers work with Project managers to make sure deliverables = value to stakeholder.
Another way to look at it
What makes a good Program Manager?
The Millennial Impact
• Millennials seek a grand sense of purpose in their work • Project professionals struggle to recruit and retain young professionals • This is causing increased demand and therefore the cost to hire a project manager
Recruiting and Retaining Millennials • Offer long-term opportunities • Help them connect a sense of greater purpose to work they do • Encourage an environment of open and face-to-face communication – even if its via Google Hangout or Skype • Be open to a flexible work environment – Millennials are very tech savvy and have a hard time sitting in cubical from 9 to 5 if they can do the same work from home.
