Project: Snowflake Pillowcase Materials
For one pillowcase: • 1⁄4 yard tone-on-tone (appliqués) • 1⁄ 2 yard band print (pillowcase band) • 7⁄ 8 yard body print (pillowcase body) • Lightweight fusible web • Tear-away stabilizer • AccuQuilt Go! fabric cutter (optional) • AccuQuilt Go! Die #55322 (optional) Finished pillowcase: 30×20" (fits a standard-size bed pillow) Quantities are for 44 ⁄45"-wide, 100% cotton fabrics. Measurements include 1 ⁄ 2" seam allowances for pillowcase construction. Sew with right sides together unless otherwise specified.
Cut Fabrics
To cut out snowflake appliqués with AccuQuilt Go! fabric cutter dies, complete the following steps. 1. Place fusible web, paper side
up, on wrong side of designated fabric and press according to manufacturer’s instructions; let cool. 2. Following AccuQuilt Go! fabric
cutter instructions, use fabric cutting die #55322 to cut out pattern pieces the number of times indicated in cutting instructions. Peel off paper backing.
To cut out snowflake appliqués with scissors, complete the following steps:
Assemble Band
1. Place fusible web, paper side up,

over patterns on page 4. Use a pencil to trace each pattern the number of times indicated in cutting instructions, leaving 1 ⁄ 2" between tracings. Cut out drawn shapes roughly 1 ⁄4" outside drawn lines. 2. Following manufacturer’s
instructions, press fusible-web shapes onto wrong side of designated fabric; let cool. Cut out fabric pieces on drawn lines. Peel off paper backings.
Use a 1 ⁄4" seam allowance for the following steps.
band print 5 1 ⁄ 2×401 ⁄ 2" strips along a pair of long edges (Band Assembly Diagram). 2. Join short ends of Step 1 unit
to make a loop. Fold loop in half with wrong side inside; press to make pillowcase band. Press seam open.
Assemble Pillowcase
Use a 1 ⁄ 2" seam allowance for the following steps.
From tone-on-tone, cut: • 6 each of patterns A and B From band print, cut: • 2—51⁄ 2×401⁄ 2" strips From body print, cut: • 1—253⁄4×41" rectangle

Appliqué Band
2. Referring to Diagram 1, slide
1. Referring to Band Assembly
Diagram, arrange snowflake appliqués atop one 51 ⁄ 2×401 ⁄ 2" print strip, cutting away excess snowflakes. Fuse in place following manufacturer's instructions. 2. Place tear-away stabilizer
beneath fused strip. Using matching thread and a small zigzag stitch, stitch around each snowflake. Press appliquéd strip from wrong side.
rectangle in half crosswise to form a 253⁄4×201 ⁄ 2" rectangle. Sew together long edges and one pair of short edges to make pillowcase body. Turn right side out and press flat.
pillowcase band over pillowcase body with appliquéd side facing pillowcase body; align raw edges and pin. Using 1 ⁄4" seam allowance, sew together through all layers. 3. Press pillowcase band open,
pressing seam allowances toward pillowcase body. Topstitch on pillowcase body 1 ⁄ 8" from band seam to secure seam allowances and complete pillowcase (Diagram 2).
