Project Superintendent Valleyfair has an opening in its Maintenance Division for Project Superintendent. This position will report to the Director Construction & Maintenance.
JOB SUMMARY: Coordinate and supervise the construction process from conceptual development through final construction. This includes budgeting time, material, and scheduling for in-house projects as well as assuming the role of general contractor for projects that are bid out to outside firms. In addition this position requires the maintenance of wood structures.
QUALIFICATIONS:
In depth knowledge of construction methods and materials, survey instruments and the ability to perform site layouts. Experience working with multi-million dollar projects, including keeping projects on time and on or under budget. Experience hiring and working with subcontractors (working as a general contractor). Possess a mechanical background and aptitude. Experience in hiring and discipline of staff members. Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law. Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law. Ability to work nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for all water and sewer in the park. Oversees the inspection, preventive maintenance and repair of all wood structures. Obtains all necessary permits and licenses for construction projects and monitors compliance with building codes, requirements and regulations. Stays current on all of the above. Acts as general contractor for all projects that are not done in-house. This includes selecting sub-contractors through the bid process. Must be able to work with and direct sub-contractors. Puts together bids on all projects that will not be done in-house. Plan, direct and coordinate all construction projects. Ability to read and interpret documents, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Adheres to and enforces all Cedar Fair and specific Park policies and procedures, including safety, attendance and EEO policies, and demonstrates commitment to customer service in all aspects of employment. Other duties may be assigned.
