Report 5 Downloads 44 Views
Project: Tiki Garden and Bar Project definition: The project is to transform an existing, private outdoor space which contains a roomy garden shed into a Tiki culture inspired garden and bar before the summer. Goals/Scope/Timeline/Budget: 1. Renovate existing garden and shed to fit with Tiki culture theme – there is no room to vary the theme or spaces to renovate. 2. Complete the project by the summer (3 months away) – the time for completing the project is fixed. It must be completed in time for the owner’s 100th birthday party which falls on the first day of summer and which the local Mayor will attend and will be televised. 3. Spend no more than $5,000 – there is room for movement in the budget if necessary. 4. Safely accommodate existing garden residents (2 rabbits and a cat who currently live in the garden and garden shed) – This is a fixed requirement as the owners are not willing to give away their pets. Organisation  Project Manager (DT) o Role: Create and monitor project management plan, lead designer, lead research, create and oversee the budget, purchase equipment, assist with construction, sign-off and final project evaluation  Project Assistant (GM) o Role: Assist with research, purchasing and construction phases  Contractor (Con) o Role: Lead and undertake construction phase within scope of design and identified timeline Project Plan and Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) Tiki Garden & Bar

1

High

The project will take place during spring time which is a typical season for rain

2

High

3

High

4

Medium

Delivery of construction materials/décor might be delayed since many need to be soured online and not through typical stores Researcher may make mistake as to what floar/fauna/materials are poisonous to animals since not a professional Contractor gets sick/severely injured and cannot work

5

Low

Anyone working on site is severely injured during construction phase

Mitigation Plan

Ensure all supplies delivered prior to commencement of construction phase ready for use. Ask contactor to alternate between outdoor (garden) and indoor (bar) construction to accommodate for weather patterns. Ensure items are in stock before ordering them, pick up items personally from store/purchase location where available, order items locally where possible to minimise travel time. Ensure researcher uses reputable research source. In addition to private research, double-check findings with trained professional (vet/vet student) Organise back-up contractor in case hired contractor gets sick/can no longer work

Ensure insurance for property covers private and/or contractors working on site
