Screen-Safe
™
Highway Glare Screen & Work Zone Safety Shield
Protect Workers/Drivers From Headlight Glare Screen-Safe™ is designed to provide protection from approaching vehicle headlight glare. The system utilizes a double-reverse corrugated (DRC) fabric, formed from hot-dipped galvanized sheet steel. The DRC fabric is powder-coated to provide additional protection from salt spray, snow and slush. The unique surface design of the DRC provides a continous opaque surface that eliminates viewing from all angles, thus discouraging motorists from “rubbernecking”. Screen-Safe™ is also effective in protecting motorists from snow and water spray generated by oncoming traffic. Screen-Safe™ can be installed in permanent locations on concrete barriers and steel guardrail. For work zone installations it can be quickly removed and reinstalled at different locations. The all steel assembly components make Screen-Safe™ the most durable highway glare screen and work zone safety shield available to the transportation industry.
Features and Advantages ■ Eliminates Motorist Distractions from Headlight Glare ■ Protects Work Zone Crews from Injury ■ Pre-Engineered System Allows for Fast Installation ■ Easy to Install ■ Powder-Coated, Galvanized Steel ■ Self-Supporting for Concrete Barrier, Steel Guardrail
and Timber Guardrail Systems ■ Low Maintenance Costs

Applications
■ Screen Fabric: Screen-Safe™ is available in 50 ft. length rolls, 24 inches in height. It is fabricated from 25 gauge steel sheet AISI 1010 or 1008 which has been hot-dip galvanized to ASTM A-653, coating designation G90.
Screen-Safe™ may be permanently or temporarily installed on concrete barriers, wood or steel guardrail posts, concrete bridge rails or Visi-Barrier. The preengineered system design utilizes modular components which allow for fast installation with minimal disruption to traffic flow.
Screen-Safe™
will provide positive
protection for work zone crews against airborne debris that can be projected from the roadway. Screen-Safe™ installations are ideal for: ■ Curved Roadways
■ Finish: Screen-Safe™ has a light gray, medium-gloss powder coat paint with zinc. It conforms to ASTM D 523 for gloss, and B 117 for salt spray resistance, reference test for Bonderite. The film thickness is minimum 1.8 mils. ■ Hardware: All components are structural grade, and of the following materials: A. Post Bolt-Steel, hex head machine bolt, ASTM A-307, H.D. galvanized ASTM A-153 B. Concrete Anchor - steel, drop-in flush expansion anchor C. Splice Plate ASTM 4140, H.D. galvanized A-123 D. Steel/Wood Post Brackets- ASTM A-36, H.D. galvanized A-123 E. End Cable Assembly - steel, aircraft cable with galvanized steel hardware ■ Design Plans and Specifications: Transpo engineers are available to evaluate proposed locations for Screen-Safe™ and to prepare detailed construction plans and specifications in conjunction with consulting engineers. We assure that each installation meets the highest safety standards and provides the best solution for protecting motorists as well as work zone crews.
