Back Injuries   They are exceedingly painful, difficult to heal, and have an effect on everything you do.  After suffering one back injury, you are much more likely to experience another one later on.  It is important to learn how to avoid injuring or reinjuring your back.  Do yourself a big favor by learning proper lifting techniques and the basics of back safety.

Prevent Back Injuries   When sitting at a computer use proper posture  Do not sit or stand for too long, take breaks and stretch  When lifting always use your leg muscles and not your back.  When lifting never twist your back

Prevent Back Injuries   Never reach to lift an object or person  Lift in a smooth single motion, do not use a fast jerking motion  If the object or person is too heavy ask for help!!!!!  Never lift a resident on their weak side  Poor planning of a transfer or lift can result in a back injury
