This bag will be stored on your numbered hook in the bag storage area as you enter T1 from the swim. T2 is based on the embankment, this is where you will rack your bike at the end of the bike section of the event and change into your running kit ready for the run. You will need to make sure that you put your trainers (if you aren’t wearing them on the bike) into your T2 transition bag and leave these next to your numbered racking spot. The Team Event The Whole Team is required to register for the event. member, which needs to be attached around the left ankle.

Race Briefing – 0840 This will take place in T1 (outside Portland Centre). If you are unsure about anything please attend. The Race Briefing will inform you of any last-minute route changes and safety points. If you have any questions or queries on race day, please ask them after the Race Briefing. Race Start The first wave of competitors will start at 09:00, the timekeeper will start 4 swimmers at 90 second intervals. Please ensure you are on pool side 10 minutes prior to your start time.

bike section. Once you have packed your swim kit into your transition bag you will then drop this at the bag drop area prior to the mount line. The Bike – This is a completely closed road bike circuit. After mounting your bike, you will make your way down onto the Embankment. After joining the Embankment, you will complete 4 laps for the super sprint and 2 laps for the Go Tri event. This is an anticlockwise 3km loop with a U-turn at each end. At the end of the bike section you will enter T2 which is on the river side of the course. After dismounting your bike you will make your way to your numbered racking spot, rack your bike, then remove your helmet. You’ll retrieve your trainers from your T2 transition bag and then head out of transition onto the run course.

Electronic Timing To ensure accurate times and results, every competitor will receive a timing chip to wear whilst racing. Please ensure that you do not cross the mats, which register your times except when you are competing. To avoid this problem do not climb over barriers as they are out in place to prevent access from these areas prior to the event. Failure to comply with this request will trigger your timing chip and could invalidate your result.

The Run – Upon exiting T2 you will join the clockwise loop that will take you on the footpath up to and over Trent Bridge before dropping down on to the riverside footpath opposite the Embankment. You will then turn right to cross the suspension bridge where you will turn right to then head towards the finish area. If you are competing the Super Sprint event you will run past the finish to then complete a 2nd lap. For everybody competing in the Go Tri event you will head straight onto the red finish carpet and finish under the large Finish Gantry.

When fitting your chip some people find it useful to smear a small amount of lubricant around that area to prevent any chaffing. Electronically capturing each finishers time allows us to continuously post preliminary provisional results in the timing tent next to the finish.

Course Reconnaissance Both the bike and run course will be signed from the Friday afternoon. We do not recommend cycling the bike route prior to the event as the roads will not be fully closed until the Saturday morning.

Race Numbers Race numbers must be worn on the back during the bike & the front during the run. Number bands are allowed but it is recommended that two be worn. One number band for the top of the number & one number band for the bottom to stop your number creasing up and becoming unreadable.

Medical Cover The safety of our competitors is paramount. Onsite during the event will be a specialist company set up to supply the highest calibre of comprehensive medical cover to sporting events such as this. On the day there will be a team of medics, including a Paramedic, EMT’s and Advanced EMT’s plus Accident and Emergency response vehicles equipped with manual defibrillator / cardiac monitors, ventilators, pulse oximetry and medical gases. There will also be British Triathlon motorbike marshals on the cycle section. If before, during or after the event you feel that you require any type of medical care, please do not hesitate to contact an event marshal.

NB. Please do not forget to bring safety pins. The Swim – Will take place in the Portland Centre. For the Super sprint event, you will complete a 300m swim (10 lengths). For the Go Tri event, you will complete a 210m swim (7 lengths). On exiting the pool, you will exit the building via the exit doors at the bottom corner of the building and out through the fire exit. Upon exiting the building, you will follow the ramp down into T1, where you will collect your T1 bag from the bag racking before moving to your bike to get ready for the
