The Art and Practice of Psychodrama and Experiential Therapy* Professional Training for Psychotherapists Psychodrama and experiential therapy transforms the group experience by bringing a client’s inner reality out for him or her to explore in a safe environment. Through the psycho-‐dramatic process, the group member gains clarity, releases pent up emotions, becomes un-‐stuck, and moves toward healthy resolution and closure. Everyone in the group plays a role in each others’ psychodramas and is impacted deeply by other’s work, learning vicariously and growing in compassion and acceptance. This training will teach the seasoned or new therapist the skills necessary to facilitate psychodrama, breathwork, and other experiential modalities for working with clients in the following areas: Developmental patterns and schemas Conflictual relationships Early childhood trauma and shock Addiction, codependency and shame Mind, body and spirit issues Fear and anxiety The training will meet one weekend a month for 12 months in the Shiloah group room, starting the weekend of March 12 & 13. During each weekend, participants will practice staying present with the client’s process, learn how to manage group energy, gain confidence in the facilitation of psychodramatic techniques, and experience their own psychodramas. *CEUs applied to NASW or NBCC
