Bulletin 21 A great night was had by everyone on Friday at the PTA Quiz. 125 people made up 17 teams and created a real buzz in the school hall and raised approx £1,500 on the evening. Everyone enjoyed the fish & chip supper and choc ices. Kate Newton who headed up the bar had to do two “emergency” visits to the local Tesco for extra beer and white wine—it must have been the good weather!! Many thanks to everyone who made the evening a success, including Nicola Thomas who co-ordinated the quiz, Andrew Szczech the Quiz Master, Kate Newton who ran the bar, Jenn Sitrin Caminsky who managed the scoring system with the help of 6th formers Spencer and Lia, also not forgetting Sarah for organising the fish and chips. To make events successful we really need more parents to The Winning Team help. Many of the regular PTA members have children going “The Lab Technicians” into year 13 so we need parents from the lower years to come and join us. So, if you are interested in getting involved please drop me an email. An hour or so here or there is all it takes and many hands make light work! Beverley Szczech—PTA Chairman—[email protected]

The monthly uniform sales are still very popular but we still need good quality uniforms for the PTA uniform sale. If you son has grown out of anything please think about donating. Blazers, ties, jumpers and PE/Rugby kits would be especially welcome. We are particularly short of stock of any PE kit—this is always very popular! All donations can either be dropped off when you visit the shop on the first Saturday of every month (term time in the dining room) or can be left at school reception.

The PTA would like to thank Dawn Osborn (parent) and James Osborn (son) who have done a sterling job running the uniform shop for the PTA. Dawn has now passed the baton onto a group of parents who will be running the shop on a monthly basis from September onwards.
