THIS WEEK Wednesday, Jan. 18 Women’s Basketball vs. UW-Whitewater 7 p.m.
#12 Women’s Basketball (15-3, 7-2 WIAC) The Pointers will start at home this week, hosting UW-Whitewater on Wednesday. In the first match-up at Whitewater, UWSP defeated the Warhawks 71-50. For Saturday’s match-up, UWSP will travel to UWSuperior to take on the Yellowjackets. Wednesday’s game will tip at 7 p.m. while Saturday’s action begins at 3 p.m. in Superior. Fans are encouraged to wear gold to Wednesday’s game, as the game is designated “Gold Rush” night.
#16 Men’s Basketball (14-4, 7-2 WIAC) The Pointers will be on the road again this week, traveling to No. 2 UW-Whitewater on Wednesday and UW-Superior on Saturday. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. Wednesday with Saturday’s match-up beginning at 5 p.m. UWSP will look to bounce back after an overtime loss to UW-River Falls on Saturday.
Men’s Hockey (8-8-3, 4-5-3 NCHA) After a weekend bye, the Pointers will be back in action this weekend, traveling to UW-Eau Claire on Friday and hosting UW-River Falls on Saturday. Saturday’s game will be the third annual “Put a Check to Cancer” night. Game time is set for 7 p.m. at K.B. Willett Arena. #25 Wrestling (7-11, 1-1 WIAC) After a 2-2 finish at the Border Brawl last weekend, the Pointers travel to Kenosha on Wednesday to take on UW-Parkside. The dual will start at 7 p.m. Swimming & Diving After last weekend’s first place finish for the men and third place finish for the women, the Pointers will look to continue to do well at home as they host UWLa Crosse on Saturday. The meet will start at 12 p.m. in the UWSP Pool.
Indoor Track & Field After hosting meets the last two weekends, the Pointers will hit the road Friday as they travel to Kenosha for the Thad Metzger Invite, hosted by Carthage College. Women’s Hockey (9-6-2, 8-3-1 NCHA) After splitting with St. Scholastica at home last weekend, the Pointers will be on the road, traveling to UW-Superior for a weekend series. Game time is set for 7 p.m. on Friday and 2 p.m. Saturday.
