General Instructions

Please read through all the instructions before beginning! • The blocks measure 14˝ finished. • WOF = width of fabric. • Seam allowance is 1/4˝. Press in the direction of the arrows. • Press border strips toward the border when sewing to the quilt top. • Label the pieces (especially the background) as they are cut for easy reference. • Lay out all the pieces of each block next to your sewing machine before sewing them together. This will help keep the pieces in the proper order and placement. The blocks are sewn in sections and the sections joined together. • You have a large variety of fabrics in light, medium and dark prints and yarn dyes. Plan ahead which colors you would like to use in the blocks. Then cut the squares for the checkerboard border. The border in our sample is predominately blue, tan and grey, but feel free to add pinks as well! You will need 4 yards for backing.
