BOARD REPORTS: President’s Report: Welcome all, thank you for coming.  We welcome Tammy Pellerin who has assumed the responsibility of new secretary for the 20162017 season. Vice President’s Report: Nothing to report Secretary’s Report:  No prior month’s minutes to approve. Treasurer’s Report: Starting Balance Deposits Expenses Final Balance $8220.60 $0 $1175.81 $7,044.79  We didn’t have many expenses last month. Only a few things: business cards/wristbands/open house expenses. We have a PVYA annual expense of $1,000. Lacrosse Coordinator’s Report:  Sharon, Tara & Vinnie will attend the league meeting on Tuesday September 20 th. Old Business: Finances: As Kate reported, we did end the season with about $8,000. So, all of the fundraising and everything else really worked out. Family Fun Day: Our Family Fun Day was rained out, we only made $60. We still have the radar gun and other things that were overhead this year, to use next year, so it should be better. End of Year Surveys Information was passed to the PVYA executive board. We also are taking all of the suggestions and information into consideration. New Business: 2017 Budget: Will be available soon. Still working on uniform quotes. Best guess, assuming we have a similar turnout as last year, would be that we will end next year with a positive $10,000 balance.

LV League Meeting: Will be held on Tuesday 9/20/16.

Training for Coaches: We are looking into getting our head coaches US Lacrosse certified, and reimbursing fees.

Fundraising: We need to make a decision as a group as to what fundraising options we’d like to pursue, as there are many options. o Car magnets – Everyone liked this idea. o Coin drop at ShopRite. (Weis does not allow solicitation) Everyone agreed that this is easy, free money. Scheduled: Saturday January 14th 2-6pm o “Women’s Night Out” event (Friday/Saturday) o Designer Bag raffle (Tricky Tray) –a risky option, too much upfront cost and no guaranteed profits. o Wine and Paint Night –s/w Sorrenti’s, and they are able to do this for $35 per person. That would include all of our supplies, 1 glass of wine per person, and snacks. We would tack on an additional fee (TBD) to raise money. o “Team Restaurant Night” – We advertise the night/restaurant to go to, and get a percentage back on everyone’s bill that mentions us. Will attempt one and see if it’s profitable. Will try Friendly’s 1st , since they are kid friendly, inexpensive, best % rate back, and people can go just for ice cream if they don’t want a full meal. Participating restaurants in the area:  Friendly’s – 20%  Buffalo Wild Wings – 20%  Texas Roadhouse – 10%  Moe’s – 15% o Fan Gear- Start w/Holiday sales drive of a few select items. 100% online, parents to pay shipping and items direct shipped. Currently looking at a new vendor, which PV Cubs uses, and the products are great. They also have a very easy to manage online store. All orders are delivered to us, already separated by order. o Player Equipment Sales- Open 100% online store once, prior to holidays, then again at registration. Factoring on 25-30 kids needing equipment. Working with Bruce at ASC Lacrosse to offer 3 levels (beginner, middle, advanced).  Lacrosse Sports Bottles- (w/ long straw) We can buy and sell them to the kids for a profit, or get a sponsor to buy them and give them to each player as a gift. Coaches agreed this was a great idea. Will ask Duke’s Lacrosse or Headstrong to be sponsors. Will have prices for next meeting.  Gift Card Sales- Sell gift cards to people for face value, and we earn a percentage back on sales. 100%online. Will set up and keep open all year long. Will have information out in October.  Yankee Candles- 100% online, easy to manage. Will try during spring/Easter season.

Review of the Bylaws: We add/change and review our bylaws yearly. All comments/concerns should be sent to [email protected]. We will present changes in October, so everyone can vote. Coaches’ Application: New for 2017 application will start in October. 100% online, via Blue Sombrero and not tied to registration. An application does not guarantee a coaching position. Our goal is to have head coaches chosen by the end of the year. Assistant coach applications will be accepted

through registration. Introducing new 80% rule. Head coaches must be able to commit to 80% of events. Open Houses: They were a success, especially at the elementary school. The bracelets were a good idea; the kids all liked them. The candy was also a good draw to the table. We will continue to market our organization any way we can. We have joined many moms’ groups on Facebook to advertise/market for the group, and will continue to do so to keep our numbers up. 

Pocono Mountain Athletes: We have been trying to include Pocono Mountain schools, in the hopes of getting some of their kids to sign up for our teams, since they don’t have a team available. o Dawn mentioned that they are starting to get youth programs together, and feels it would benefit the kids to get started with us so they’re ready once their program gets going. o Girls from Pocono Mountain may be interested too, but our PVYA Girls’ Lacrosse may not be accepting players from Pocono Mountain. If they don’t, we may have to put girls on the boys’ team. Will follow-up with Kirsten, girls’ president.

LV League Representative 2017: We need a league representative to attend league meetings on the 3rd Tuesday of every month, at 7pm. Having a different person go each month did not work out. They give a lot of information out, ask for opinions, and take votes. We would be willing to pay for gas for the representative, and that would count as their work bond. Will bring up a better central location to the league. Winter Workouts: Looking at Sundays in January & February. Times ranging between 12-5pm @ PVMS. New for 2017, athletes will get a free t-shirt. Looking into the issue of providing equipment or not.  Attendance: Coach raised the question regarding attendance policy. If a player doesn’t consistently show up to practice, that player will not play as much in a game. That is listed in our by-laws. All team parents will get an attendance sheet and be responsible for taking attendance. A parent will be notified if attendance during the practice week will affect their play time. US Lacrosse Convention: Will be held on January 20 – 22nd, 2017, in Baltimore, MD. The website will be updated with this information in case anyone wants to attend. US Lacrosse members - $100, non members - $160. Fan fest tickets are approximately $10. Winter Strength and Agility: Looked into adding to our winter program, thoughts are it isn’t effective for just 1 session. Will try and concentrate on fundamentals.  Cubs Homecoming Event: We were at the Cubs’ Homecoming game Sunday September 18th, and it wasn’t a good turnout for our table. It’s probably not something we’ll do again. We will try at the West End Soccer Tournament, and see how that goes.

MEETING ADJOURNED BY PRESIDENT; second by Tara, at 5:38 pm.
