Qioqe Peninsula, W est Greenland. The second Hessian G reenland Expedition w ith eight men and my wife A nne left F ran k fu rt by air on June 27 for Sø ndre Strøm fjord. W e continued by helicopter to U m anak, where a fishing boat was chartered. W e climbed five new peaks on the Qioqe Peninsula, some rock such as the east peak of the Inukavsait Qaqarssue group climbed on July 14 by W olf R euter and W olfgang Rauschel and the next day by K urt Diem berger, H ans Lautensach, Jörg Rautenburg, my wife A nne and me and the east peak of Qioqipqaqai on July 7 by Rautenburg, Rauschel, K arl Landvogt and me, some mixed climbing such as the west ridge of the west peak of the same group done July 16 and 17 by R autenburg and D iem berger and the m ain peak of Qioqipqaqai on July 15 by D iem berger and Rautenberger and one a ski ascent, P 1670 (5429 feet) done on July 8 by Landvogt and me.
