2)
Mini-lesson (Be specific in detailing how this will be facilitated)
Today we are beginning a new unit; we will be learning about the various rooms in the house. The students will be provided a worksheet with the vocabulary on it. On the list of 31 vocabulary words, some of the words will not be defined; the reason for this is because we will go over each word on the sheet, so students will have to pay attention to write down the definition of the word. As we read each word on the vocabulary sheet, students will repeat the word as a class so that they learn how to properly pronounce each vocabulary word. Once we have practiced pronouncing the words, students will provide 6 examples to be written on the board for everyone to copy down and have as study material.
3) Activity – Students will be provided a worksheet in which they will practice using the vocabulary pertaining to various rooms in the house. They will have to locate and identify rooms, as well as answer true or false questions about the rooms in the house. On the other side, they will have a crossword puzzle to complete, as well as answering questions about certain rooms in the house.
4) Wrap-up – We will come back as a class to go over the answers on the worksheet; students will ask any questions they may have and students will be able to answer each other’s questions.
