A Note from Sheryll All, Valentines Day is fast approaching!! Since it falls on a Tuesday this year I thought I would give all of you a chance at a little Valentines gift, just stop by the shop on Valentines Day and pick out a heart to see what your gift will be! Did you know that nearly 150 million cards are exchanged each Valentine’s Day? Or that more than 40,000 American are employed at chocolate companies? Over 50 percent of all Valentine’s Day cards are purchased in the six days prior to the observance, making Valentine’s Day a procrastinator’s delight. (Source: Hallmark research)

I have sad news for us, happy news for Cheryl….Cheryl, my sidekick will be leaving us at the end of the month(sad). She is off to stay with her daughter for a while to help welcome her new Grandson (happy). Then she will be moving to the area so that she will be close to all of her Grandkids. She has wanted to do this since she retired from nursing a couple of years ago. She has a couple of Granddaughters that are at the right age to learn to quilt! She will be GREATLY missed; I could not have made it through the last several years without her. I hope you will stop by the shop this month to wish her well on her new endeavors! She promises to come up and visit from time to time! Check out the 30’s section! Whew, over 50 bolts to choose from! This fabric is perfect for all of those Spring projects on your UFO list!!!

Cupids Crunch Ingredients 2 bags microwave popcorn or 1/2- 2/3 cup popcorn kernels, popped 12 oz bag Wilton candy melts (I did the pink for this recipe) 2 cups pretzels- broken into pieces 1 - 11/2 cups M&Ms Sprinkles, Nonpareils, Holiday shaped candies for decoration Instructions Pop popcorn, set aside. Be sure to pick any unpopped kernels out- they aren't fun to bite into when you don't expect them! Melt the candy melts at 30 second intervals in the microwave if you want this done quickly. Otherwise, you can always do a double boiler method (it'll take longer), stirring frequently. Toss broken pretzels and M&Ms into the bowl with popcorn. Then pour 1/2 the melted candy over the top and combine with a rubber spatula. (I actually found that using 2 rubber spatulas worked a lot better for me and I didn't get covered in Cupid's Crunch mess!) Spread mixture out on a sheet of wax paper- drizzle remaining melted candy over the top. Sprinkle the nonpareils, candy bits or sprinkles (I call them shots) After the chocolate dries/firms up again, break into bits and either store in an airtight container (for about a week) 2

Mystery Quilt 2017 Ok, we will be gathering the fabric, I finally have the pattern!!!! I am thinking that we will have a red, blue & green color choice! There will only be 4 fabrics in each so it will be a little easier than the last mystery!! I already have quite a few people signed up so you will need to let me know whick colorway you would like! We will be starting in April!! Whoohooo!!!! I will send out pictures of the colors in the next couple of weeks with the price details!!!
Pineapple Foundation Paper Piecing Join us for a 1 day class March 11th 11-3 to experience foundation paper piecing. Paper piecing is a simple technique that makes it a breeze to sew intricate patchwork. These are just pictures, these are NOT our blocks or color choices although I really like the black one!! Prices coming soon!
Gravity Oh my gosh this quilt is amazing!!! 102x102 made with 3 layer cakes and 9 ¼ yards of fabric! Each month for 12 months you will make 2 blocks using with the paper templates included in the book or the Hex N More and Super sidekick ruler! Registration: $40.00 Cost per month: $20.00 (with rulers) or $15.85 (without rulers) Staring in April Arcadia Avenue Starts April, Registration $5.00, Class fee $20.00 per month(plus tax) includes all fabric for top only, pattern & paper! March 5th 2017 (9 to 5). We will be making a table runner or 2! Lunch, goodie bags, door prizes, and all of the fabric for top & binding for both table runners will be provided along with a day of fun, sewing and friend time! What more could you ask for….all for just $75.00 Space is limited so sign up fast, deposit of $25.00 needed to hold your spot!! Balance of $50.00 due at retreat (deposit nonrefundable, can be transferred at owners discretion)
Paint A Canvas NO painting experience required!! Come join us Friday Februry 17th at 6pm to paint this 16x20 canvas for just $25.00 All supplies are furnished all you have to do is bring your favorite beverage a snack and your self. Then you will go home with a beautiful masterpiece!! Space is limited so sign up early!
Finish it Friday -Oh my gosh, a day away just for you to sew!! Sign up fast, only a few spots left for our first finish it Friday February 10th! Just $5.00 for a whole day & evening (11am to 7pm) & snacks!!!

Creative Stitchers is a quilting sewing group that meets at the shop the 2nd Tuesday from (5:30 to 6:30-7:00) each month. Are you looking for a group of awesome ladies to join for a few hours of fun each month?? Then this is the group for you. Going Green – Creative Hands is going green, so to help us and to help our world please bring your own bag from home! If you remember to bring your own bag then you will be entered to win a $20 Creative Hands gift certificate that will be awarded each month! Class Policies Class Registration: All classes are filled on a first-come, first serve basis. Classes fill FAST and are limited in size. Registration fee is due at sign up. Phone registrations are welcome with a credit card. Class Refund Policy: We may cancel a class if the minimum number of students is not met seven days before the class begins. If we cancel a class we will gladly refund your money. If you need to cancel or withdraw from a class please let us know as soon as possible so that we will not continue to cut kits for you, no class fee refund will be given if the class has already started. No registration refund will be given, however, will gladly transfer your registration to another upcoming class! General Rules: 1. As a courtesy to others, no babies or children under 8 are allowed. Children over 8 are welcome to attend if they have paid the regular class fee and are accompanied by an adult registered for the same class. 2. Please arrive early for classes, as they will begin on time. 3. Please check each class description for supplies you need to bring or come early and we’ll be happy to assist you with finding what you need (a discount of 20% off will be given on class day only for any purchases)
