Dear Parent or Guardian, I hope you’ve enjoyed your summer. The kids are back in school, fall is now upon us and Rahway PAL is beginning to plan the 2010 Baseball/Softball Season. REGISTRATION: Registering early allows the organization the time needed to set up the season effectively and efficiently. This, in turn, enables us to keep our costs down and helps us to continue to offer one of the lowest registration fees in the area. Please consider registering early this season. To encourage early registration we are again offering a $10 per player discount off the regular $55 registration fee if you register on or before January 20th. There will be no increase in the registration fee for early and on-time registrants and we are reducing the registration fee for T-Ball players. Registrations can be submitted through the mail or in person at the Rahway Recreation Center. Look for us outside the gym during Rahway PAL basketball games.
NO REGISTRATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER FEBRUARY 20, 2010 LOWER FEES FOR T-BALL: To encourage more participation at the entry level, we are reducing the T-Ball registration fee to $25 for early and on-time registrations. FUND RAISER FEE: A fund Raiser Fee of $30 must also be paid with each registration; however, there is a limit of two Fundraiser Fees, $60, per family. We chose to increase the fundraiser fee rather than the registration fee because this is a place where families can recapture the increase by simply selling their raffle tickets. COACHES AND OTHER VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: Rahway PAL is a volunteer organization and depends entirely on parent volunteers to act as our coaches, assistant coaches, snack stand attendants and much more. Without your support, our programs cannot continue. We are pleased that volunteerism had increased last season but more help is still needed. MONTHLY MEETINGS: During the Baseball/Softball season Rahway PAL will be holding open meetings. These meetings are intended for parents of players, coaches, assistant coaches, and other volunteers. This will be a forum for getting together to discuss ways to improve our program. It is also a way to find out different ways that you can be involved in the organization. Look for a meeting schedule at RahwayPAL.org or in upcoming issues of TimeOut!. TERMS AND CONDITIONS Picking and choosing of players and/or coaches is prohibited All Players must wear the uniform provided by the P.A.L. or they will not be able to participate for that game If a player loses, alters or damages any part of their uniform they will be responsible to purchase a new one prior to being allowed to play again Any participant involved in any actions deemed to be inappropriate by the P.A.L. during P.A.L. activities, or school hours, will result in suspension from the league with no refund. I/We, the parents and or guardian of the above named candidate for a position on a league team, hereby give my/our approval to participate in any and all league activities. I/We assume all risk and hazards incidental to such participation, including transportation to and from the activities, and I/We do hereby waive, release, absolve, indemnify and agree to hold harmless the local league, the chartering organization, the organizers, sponsors, participants and persons transporting my/our child to and from activities, for any claim arising out of an injury to my/our child, whether the result of negligence or from any other cause, except to the extent and in the amount covered by accident and liability insurance. I/We understand that the insurance carried by this league covers only the amount that is not paid by my/our carrier. I/We certify that my son/daughter is in good health and has my permission to participate in the Rahway P.A.L. Baseball/Softball/TBall league.
