FROM OUR PASTOR “A Look At Our Worship” “Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: “Whom shall I send,
And who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here am I! Send Me.” (Isaiah 6:8) It is common for Christians to put all our focus on serving God, or simply doing something for Him. However, could we be neglecting an even more important aspect of people having a relationship with God? The question becomes how is your “worship?” The Shorter Westminster Catechism asks the question “What is the chief end of man?” “The chief end of man is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever.” We are basically here on this earth to be worshipers first and workers second. Unfortunately we have neglected worship and added service as number one. A Christian should learn to worship first then find where God is opening a door for service. If we want to go deeper with God we must focus more on worship than doing something for God. Note that the scripture from Isaiah seems to be focusing on “service.” Yet Isaiah was worshiping the Lord first and then at the end of his worship he states “send me.”
