Referee Fees Payment Policy WSSL Select and WSSL Recreation Matches The home team is wholly responsible to pay the center referee for WSSL Select and WSSL Recreation level competition matches. The center referee is to receive the entire payment prior to the beginning of the match. The payment to the referee is for the entire amount regardless of the number of referees who are at the match. Effective 2016 Fall WSSL Select and Recreation matches at the U9 and U10 age levels will employee three referees to enforce the offsides laws/rules.
Premier Level Play (MSPSP) Each team (home and away) is responsible to pay one-half of the match fee to the center referee. The expectation is that MSPSP matches will have three officials (one center and two assistants). However, in the event fewer than the three officials are present, then each team is only responsible to pay the referees who preside over the match.
If three referees then pay the fee for one center and two assistants. If two referees then pay the fee for one center and one assistant. If one referee then pay the fee for only the center.

2. Provide the appropriate payment for each of the officials so that they do not have to “make change”. For example, your envelope would contain three $20 bills, one $10 bill, and three $5 bills for a U11 match that has a total payment of $85. 3. Provide the payment to the center referee in a single envelope. 4. Label an envelope for each of your matches with the match date, time, location, and total fee contained within the envelope.
