Referee Point System INTENTION The intention of the Referee Point System is to help ensure that our AYSO Region 443 recruits, trains, certifies and fields enough volunteer referees to officiate at our Regional games. In this Program, volunteers agree to referee games during our regional regular reason. Referees earn referee points which they allocate to one or more teams. 10U, 12U and 14U Divisions – All have the possibility to advance to region playoffs in January. In order for teams to advance, each team needs to meet a minimum number of referee points throughout fall regular season. The minimum number of referee points required for any team to advance to the playoffs is 16 POINTS by the conclusion of the fall (regular) season. No more than 2 points can be accumulated on any given week, including Saturdays and weekdays (U-16/19 girls and boys). All teams will participate in the region Playoffs regardless of the standings except the teams that fail to earn the referee points. Teams that fail to accumulate the required points (at least 16 points) will not advance to the Playoffs. REGULATIONS • • • • • • • • •

Each coach will be responsible for refereeing or providing referee (s) for the game right after their game has been completed. If you have the last game of the day to play, you will provide referee (s) for the first game of the same day (@ 8:00 A.M.) Center referee earns- 2 points per week. Assistan referees (2 ARs) earn – 2 points if only one assistant referee shows up only 1 point will be allocated. Only uniformed, qualified referees may earn points for refereeing a game; they must be currently certified for their position and have a completed volunteer form on file. Coaches are encouraged to recruit AT LEAST TWO volunteers to become referees to earn points for their teams. If you have multiple teams, be sure to select the team to allocate your point(s) prior to submitting your referee match request. Otherwise the default team in your profile will receive the credit. Referees are not allowed to sign up to center or assistant referee for their own child’s match. Questions or comments concerning this program should be addressed to the Region 443 referee administrator. What if I cannot make it on the day?

We understand that “things happen”. We do ask you to try and contact us at [email protected] as soon as possible. Please note that our chances of finding a referee at the last minute are slim, so if you cannot show up you will likely not be replaced. We can discuss a make-up day to re-gain your referee points.
