Registering in SEVIS and Preparing Necessary Documents for Your Social Security Number Application You must register in SEVIS and prepare the following necessary documents to apply for your Social Security Number. If you do not register in SEVIS and do not have all of the documents listed below at the orientation, you will not be able to apply for your Social Security Number.
Step 1 /Register in SEVIS • A ccess your SEVIS dashboard online http://www.interexchange.org/sevis
You can use computers at one of the copy centers listed on the back of the handout; or you can use your smart phone or laptop and wifi in the hotel. • R egister your address at the Hotel Pennsylvania: Hotel Pennsylvania 401 7th Avenue, Room # (your room number) New York, NY 10001 • If you cannot access your SEVIS dashboard, send an email to [email protected] and provide your Full
Name, Date of Birth and your address at the Hotel Pennsylvania (see above).
Step 2 /Make two photocopies of these documents Please make sure that your photocopies are clear and that you can see the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) admission stamp.
