Complying with Protecting Vulnerable Persons Requirements Date: Tuesday, April 21, 2015 Time: 9:00 am - 12:00 pm Venue: Charities House Board Room, 25 Point Finger Road, Paget DV04 Cost: $15 IAC members / $20 non- members Free for BNSC Certified and Accredited Charities and those in the process Target Audience: BNSC certified or accredited charities that works with vulnerable persons because of age, physical or mental ability, ill health or because of affiliation with crime and are required to be in compliance with the BNSC Standard Eth. 7: Protection of Vulnerable Persons. All other charities that work with vulnerable persons because of age, physical or mental ability, ill health or because of affiliation with crime and are required to meet the requirements for the Protecting Vulnerable Persons Policy.
Description: As part of the charity registration process under the Charities Act 2014, “charities working with vulnerable persons will be asked for (a) information about the policies and procedures which they have in place for keeping vulnerable persons safe (b) disclosure of criminal background checks in respect of trustees where the charity is required to do so, and (c) disclosure of the fact of a disqualification from caring for seniors pursuant to the Seniors Abuse Register Act 2006”. Cited from “Protecting Vulnerable Persons Policy” BNSC Certification and Accreditation standards have been revised to include standards that address the requirements for the Protecting Vulnerable Persons Policy. In the workshop, participants will review the requirements of the Protecting Vulnerable Person as per the BNSC Standards and how best to comply with the requirements.
