Coach Navarre and the Auggie coaching staff have been leading this pre-season camp since 2001 and look forward to another exciting camp this summer!

Augsburg Soccer The Augsburg Women’s Soccer Program is one of the best programs in the nation. In 2014 the Auggies won the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference regular season and playoff titles. The Auggies advanced to the 2nd round of the NCAA Tournament and finished the season ranked #23 in the nation. In 2015 the Auggies tied for 2nd in the MIAC and were ranked as high as #14 in the nation. In 2016 the Auggies were once again MIAC Playoff Champions and advanced to the 2nd round of the NCAA Tournament. The program is built on a set of core values that emphasize teamwork, service, and academic and athletic leadership.
REGISTRATION AND FEES The cost of the camp is $115 (or $85 for 3 days). In addition to the instruction, players will receive an Augsburg College Pre-Season Soccer Camp shirt. There is no registration deadline. Each player is required to bring proper soccer attire and a fully inflated soccer ball. FACILITIES The Augsburg College Pre-Season Soccer Camp will be held at Portage Park in Cohasset, MN.

Coaching Staff Head Coach: Mike Navarre
Day I – Individual and small group defending: Roles and responsibilities of the 1st and 2nd defender. * Special Topic: Fitness for players Day II – Small and large group defending: Introduce 3rd defender/learn how team defends together within an 11 vs. 11 game. * Special Topic: Confidence Day III – 1 vs. 1 to 4 vs. 4 small sided attacking to goal. Emphasis on dribbling and combination play. * Special Topic: Leadership Day IV – Large group attacking. Attacking roles for Mf/For within 11 vs.11 format. Additional emphasis on crossing/finishing. * Special Topic: Finding the right college
Augsburg College’s Women’s Soccer Head Coach Mike Navarre (Wisconsin ’96) begins his 19th season coaching the Auggies in 2017. Navarre has established Augsburg as one of the best programs in the nation. After winning the MIAC conference and tournament titles in 2014 the Auggies finished tied for 2nd in 2015 and once again were MIAC tournament champions in 2016 advancing to the 2nd round of the NCAA Tournament for the 2nd time in 3 years. Navarre has more overall and conference wins than any active MIAC coach. Prior to Augsburg Navarre served as a graduate assistant for one of the most successful programs in the history of intercollegiate athletics, the University of North Carolina Women’s Soccer team under Anson Dorrance. Navarre holds an NSCAA Advanced National Diploma and USSF ‘B’ license and has served as a staff coach for the Minnesota Olympic Development Program (ODP). Coach Navarre completed his PhD in Sport Psychology from the University of Minnesota and teaches in Augsburg’s Exercise Science Major. Navarre was also Augsburg’s Men’s Coach from 1999-2003.
Allison DeGroot: Head Women’s Coach, UW Superior After serving as an assistant for the Augsburg women's soccer program for 5 years Allison became the Head Women’s Coach at UW Superior earlier this year. Allison was a Division I player at Marquette University, before joining the Auggie staff in 2011. DeGroot completer her Masters of Arts in Leadership at Augsburg in 2015. Joe Mooney: Head Men’s Coach, UW Superior Joe is in his ninth season as the head coach of the Yellowjackets Men’s Soccer team. In his first eight seasons Mooney has compiled a solid 88-59-14 record. Mooney was a four -year letter winner for the Yellowjackets, from 2001-2005. Mooney was a Team captain for three seasons and excelled in midfield. Mooney returns for his fourth year working the Augsburg Pre-season Camp.
