Melinda Fischer, Head Coach

Head Coach Melinda Fischer, now in her 33rd season at the helm of a highly successful Redbird softball, has established herself and her team in a league of their own. With over 1,000 wins prior to the start of the 2016 season, Fischer is the all-time winningest coach in Illinois State Athletics history and in Missouri Valley Conference history. A six-time MVC/Gateway Conference coach of the year and a two time inductee into the Illinois State Athletics Hall of Fame, Fischer proves that excellence is the rule, not the exception at Illinois State Softball

Check - in at Marian Kneer Softball Stadium—12:30 p.m. Cost is $140* (includes instruction, insurance, parking and an ISU Redbird Softball t-shirt) Players will learn/develop the four basic pitches (rise, drop, curve and change); pitching strategies and different pitching techniques. Clinic instruction will consist of intermediate and advance techniques in both clinics.

Tina Kramos, Associate Softball Coach

PITCHERS MUST BRING THEIR OWN CATCHER WITH THEM.

Tina Kramos enters her 19th season at Illinois State after a successful softball career, both as a player and coach. On the playing side, Kramos competed in the 2004 Athens Olympics as a member of the Greek Olympic softball team and was a twotime All-Valley First-Team selection at Missouri State University. Kramos began her coaching career at Colorado-Colorado Springs, before moving to Nicholls State. Her experience led her to Illinois State where she continues to guide the Redbird hitters to new levels.

Tara Archibald, Pitching Coach Tara Archibald is in her 1st season at Illinois State, bringing 14 years of coaching experience at various levels as a former NCAA Scholar Athlete award winner at Southern Illinois and pitching coach at Georgia. Archibald comes from Field House Sports where she worked as the Sports Administrator and Lead Softball Instructor. She previously served as an assistant coach working primarily with pitchers at Georgia from 2011 to 2014. Prior to Georgia, Archibald served as a manager and coach of the Southern Force Softball Organization from 2003 to 2011 following her playing career at SIU where earn their first-ever NCAA Tournament win in 2003 en route to advancing to the school's first Sweet 16 appearance.

For softball players that want to learn everything about the game…

ALL-PURPOSE DA Y CAMP Specifically designed for girls 2nd through 6th grade. This clinic will provide each player with a unique experience. Participants will leave with the chance to improve their softball skills. No previous softball experience is required. Individual attention will be emphasized in all phases of the game. Instruction on all fundamentals of softball for all levels of play, position instruction and practice, pitching instruction, hitting/bunting instruction, and a fun and challenging environment. The Redbird Day Camp will make every effort to attend to the player’s desire to improve her individual skills.

Tuesday, June 12th for 9th —12th graders Begins at 9:30 a.m. and ends at 3:30 p.m. Check-in: 9:00-9:30 a.m. Please pick your daughter up promptly at 3:30 p.m.* at the softball complex. Instruction will include the following:

Offense … Hitting fundamentals and strategies Defense … Advance fundamentals and specific position breakdowns Scrimmage … Game play and strategies Weight room orientation

Cost: $140 (Deposit $100 non-refundable) Includes instruction & demonstrations by the Illinois State University Softball Staff, along
